Miss. mom charged after son's body found in oven
JACKSON, Miss. -- A Mississippi mother was arrested Wednesday in the death
of her 3-year-old son after authorities said they found the child's burned body in an oven.
Washington County Coroner Methel Johnson said police found Tristan Robinson's body
inside the electric oven at his mother's apartment shortly after midnight.
Johnson said the child had been burned in the oven, but an autopsy was ordered
to determine whether he died before or after being put there.
Greenville Police Chief Freddie Cannon said Terrie A. Robinson, 24, was charged with murder.
She was to be arraigned Thursday in Greenville, a city of about 35,000 residents in the Mississippi Delta.
It wasn't immediately clear if she had hired a lawyer.
Johnson said the child's body was still warm when it was removed from the oven.
"This is a really sad moment for me. I've seen a lot of things,
but this is one that will stick in my memory for a long, long time," Johnson said.
There appeared to be some trauma to the boy's head, Johnson said,
and that could have happened before he was placed in the oven.
Officers found the body after responding to an emergency call,
but the chief didn't want to release any details because of an ongoing investigation.
Johnson said a little girl found in the home was placed in the care of
the Mississippi Department of Human Services.
Terrie Robinson's twin sister, Sherrie Robinson, told WXVT-TV that people
should not judge her sister before all the facts are known.
"She was a great parent, a good person. We don't know what's wrong.
We don't know what happened. Do not sit there and call her
a bad mom cause that's not what she is," Sherrie Robinson told the TV station.

You posted it fine Joanie. What a way to start the day. It's too hard reading these sort of things sometimes. I totally agree with the absurdity of family members rushing to her defense. It doesn't seem appropriate right now.

Joanie, good job!!
This is heartbreaking.
These evil people never run out of ways to murder their children.

A Mississippi judge has set bond at $5 million
for the woman charged with murder in the death of her 3-year-old son,
whose body was found in an oven.
The Delta Democrat Times reports bond was set
by City Judge Michael Prewitt during Robinson’s initial court
appearance Thursday.
Authorities say they found the child’s body in an electric oven at his mother’s apartment in Greenville.
Washington County Coroner Methel Johnson says it’s unclear if the child was already dead when he was placed in the oven.
Johnson said an autopsy would likely be completed Friday.
It wasn’t immediately clear if Robinson has a lawyer.

SAD SAD SAD!
I read today Tristan was alive when placed in the oven! I cannot imagine a MOTHER doing this to a child she gave birth to! I cry for this little boy. He is not enduring anymore beatings or pain! There is no telling what toture he had been thru prior to this!
I pray for the grandparents of this child and the sibling that was taken away! This is probably the best thing for the other child! God be with her! (the other child that is)

This really is one sick story. Where do people come up with these ideas???
I find it hard to believe that a toddler of this age wouldn't know to push open an over door because it's getting very "warm in here".
I can only presume, hope and pray that the little one was somehow
drugged into submission before the oven was turned on.
Did she feel this was a way to dispose of the body?

He could've been knocked unconscious then stuffed in the oven. Or he could've been abused so much he was scared and did anything he was told to do.

Three-year-old Tristan Robinson was alive when he was placed in the oven in his mother’s
apartment, Washington County Coroner Methel Johnson said Friday.
The toddler died of “thermal injuries” from the heat, Johnson said.
The youngster’s body was found Wednesday inside the electric oven at his mother's apartment.
Johnson said a pathologist is still trying to determine if the child was conscious when he was put in the oven.
There appeared to be some trauma to the boy's head, authorities said.
The boy’s mother, Terrie A. Robinson, 24, has been charged with murder in the death.
Her bond was set at $5 million.
She was arraigned Thursday in Greenville, a city of about 35,000 in the Mississippi Delta.

So, alive but unconscious, this poor little kid was, in effect,
roasted to death.
The fires of hell await you, Terrie!
