"Infant Doe" - xx age/ Suspect: Maria Chavez-Guizar (BOLO) - Carborro/ Chapel Hill NC

Police are seeking a woman in connection with a Jan. 27 assault on an infant.The
child's mother left the infant and three other children with Maria
Estela Chavez-Guizar, of 501 Jones Ferry Road, Apt. S-2, when she
returned to work part time.



Police discovered the child's injuries after responding to an EMS call for help
with an unresponsive infant, said
Carrboro police Sgt. Chris Atack.Police issued a warrant charging Guizar with
intentional child abuse inflicting serious bodily injury."We're hoping folks will
keep an eye out for her," Atack said. "Our thoughts are with the infant."
Atack said the child, who suffered serious head trauma, has been released
from the hospital.Anyone with information on Guizar's whereabouts should
