"Baby Jane" HATFIELD - 4 Months (2010) - Abilene TX

An Abilene mother plead no contest Thursday morning to the murder of her 4-month-old baby at a southside apartment last year.A
no contest plea means that Ashley Hatfield does not contest the fact
that she murdered the child, according to the district attorney's
office.The killing happened inside Hatfield's home at the Reserve Apartments.Police
say the baby lay dead inside for six hours before Hatfield's husband, a
Dyess airman, came home and found his son had been suffocated. Autopsy
results ruled the death a homicide.Hatfield will be sentenced in about 45 days.
