FHP: Toddler Ejected From Car Was Not Wearing Seat Belt

Charges Pending Against Driver


ORLANDO, Fla.— A 3-year-old child was seriously hurt after being ejected from a vehicle that crashed in Marion County on Saturday.

A 2002 Jeep Liberty crashed and rolled over on Interstate 75 after a tire blowout, a Florida Highway Patrol official said.

The child fell out of the vehicle when it rolled over.

FHP officials said the child was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

The 3-year-old was in serious condition Saturday night at Shands Hospital.

Charges are pending in the crash, investigators said.
