Authorities think they have found the body of a young child under the
shed of a house that belongs to a couple accused of child abuse,
according to the Daily Press.
Police arrested Shannon and Brian Gore last night and charged them with criminal child abuse, the report said.
They found the body around 8:30 p.m. Friday. The body was taken to the medical examiner’s office in Richmond.
The sheriff’s office originally went to the Gores’ home Thursday night to investigate a burglary.
They found the Gores' young daughter trapped inside a crib, naked and covered in feces, according to the report.

Sources tell a story of sick, twisted child abuse that was discovered and ended
all in the same night. Police were poking around a neighborhood in
Hayes, Virginia searching for information on some burglaries that had
occurred. While in the neighborhood, the police knocked on the door of
25-year old Shannon Gore. Gore, who lived with her husband Brian, shared
a home with their children. However, it was more than obvious which
child was favored by the parents.

Police found the infant son of Shannon and Brian Gore in perfect, healthy
condition, but they found their 5-year old daughter in horrible shape.
The child was kept in a makeshift cage that had been fashioned out of a
crib and plywood. She was malnourished, terribly underweight and was
covered in fecal matter. The child was starving to death. The despicable
parents of this poor, neglected child were promptly arrested for gross
child abuse and neglect and the children were immediately removed from the home.

But that isn't the end of this twisted story.
The police returned to the home the following day to do some followup
searching of the premises. Well, they weren't prepared to find out that
this property was much more than a scene of child neglect. It is now a
crime scene because while they were searching the backyard they found
the body of a young child buried in a shallow grave. The age, gender or
anything else about the child has not been released by law enforcement.

The image is grainy and the audio isn't clear, but what's happening is unmistakable.

Brian Gore had just proposed to his girlfriend, Shannon N. Smith, at a
crowded restaurant. She covered her mouth and nose with her hands as
cameras flashed. She took the ring and placed it on her finger.

Then she and Gore, who were charged Friday with penning a malnourished
young girl in their Gloucester County mobile home, locked in a long
embrace.

The video, uploaded less than three years ago on Gore's MySpace
page on the Internet, shows the couple before authorities made the
startling discovery last week while investigating an unrelated burglary.

The girl was found under a crib that had been modified into a cage. The
situation took a grisly turn hours later when Gloucester County
sheriff's deputies unearthed what they say are the remains of another
child buried outside the home.

The girl found inside the home, believed to be 5 or 6 years old, is being cared for at Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters
in Norfolk. An infant boy was also taken from the couple and did not
need to be hospitalized. Authorities have not yet identified the
remains.

Deputies jailed Brian and Shannon Gore, who were both charged with
felony child abuse, while Shannon Gore was also charged with attempted
capital murder.

Family members of the couple did not open their doors to reporters nor
did they answer telephone calls on Sunday. But details of the Gores are
emerging through talks with neighbors, co-workers, and what's available
on the Internet.

Brian Gore's MySpace page, which is open to public viewing, shows a
smiling photo of him and Shannon — a stark contrast to the mug shots
released Friday by deputies.

Images uploaded between 2008 and 2009 indicate that he is a car buff who favored Ford Mustangs. According to information from Facebook, he graduated from Gloucester High School in 2000. Deputies say he is 29.

Shannon Gore, 25, worked at the fast food restaurant Bojangles on Route
17 in Yorktown for about two years, employees said. She has been on
maternity leave since the birth of a son about four weeks ago.

Like the Gores' neighbors at the mobile home park, Bojangles employees
said they did not know anything about the young girl found in the mobile
home. Shannon Gore visited the restaurant a few days ago with her
infant son, employees said.

Her MySpace page is decorated with red hearts and contains an ultrasound
image of a developing baby. The webpage, which indicates she last
accessed the account on April 23, includes a list of popular songs sung
by Ciara, Pink, and others.

In the upper right corner is the statement: "I am who I am your opinion isn't needed."

A Gloucester man is again behind bars after authorities found the remains of a young child buried near a shed at his home.

Brian Gore, a 29-year-old resident of Waterview Mobile Home Park, was
jailed Saturday on unspecified charges, according to the Gloucester
County Sheriff's Department.

He and his wife, Shannon, were
charged Friday with felony child abuse after deputies found a nude young
girl covered in feces and trapped in a crib that had been modified to
form a cage. Shannon Gore was also charged with attempted capital
murder. On Friday she was being held at Gloucester County Jail.

Brian Gore had posted $1,500 bail on
Friday. But deputies re-arrested him after finding the remains of the
child. The age, gender and identity of the remains is unknown, pending
tests by the state Medical Examiner's Office.

A young girl was found caged and attempting to eat herself in a mobile home in Virginia, and cops say her parents are responsible.

The malnourished girl, believed to be either 5 or 6, was discovered in a crib that was converted into a makeshift cage after police arrived at the home in Gloucester County to investigate a burglary last week.

The girl's parents, Brian and Shannon Gore, were arrested and charged with felony child abuse. The mother was also charged with attempted capital murder.

However, the gruesome twosome now faces first-degree murder charges after the remains of what authorities believe to be another child were found buried outside their mobile home.

"I've done this for 20 years, and I've never seen anything like this in my life," Gloucester Sheriff's Maj. Darrell Warren said.

A month-old baby boy was also found in the home, but was in good condition. Both he and the older girl are now in the care of the county Department of Social Services.

The horrific find came as police investigated a robbery on April 17.

A nearby homeowner reported his house was broken into and claimed gold bullion, a vacuum cleaner, a passport, $2,000 in cash and other items had been stolen, according to a police report.

Investigators trailed the bullion to an auction house, which claimed to have bought the gold from 25-year-old Shannon Gore.

Authorities arrived at her mobile home in Gloucester with a search warrant when they made the shocking discovery.

The girl's blond-hair was matted and filled with knots. She wore only a diaper and t-shirt and was eating flakes of dried skin on her body.

Brian Gore, 29, reportedly told police the girl had been kept in the cage since the summer.

"It was horrific. I don't know what else to say," Lt. Scott Little of the Sheriff's Department told Virginia's Daily Press on Friday.

"They seemed like nice people," neighbor Tim Hudnall told the newspaper. He noted he had seen the baby boy, but never saw a girl with the Gores in the six years they've been neighbors.

"He was really a nice guy," Brian Gore's ex-girlfriend, Sandy, told WTKR 3 News in Norfolk. "He went to church and everything."

Deputies discovered the child's remains while digging under and around a shed at the mobile home Friday evening. The age, gender and identity of the remains are not known, pending an examination by the state Medical Examiner's Office.

The Gores are being held in prison as authorities determine how the child died. An autopsy report by the state medical examiner is pending.

If these scumbags were not also thieves the little girl would have also ended up dead. My God, she was eating her own flesh and dried blood. The murder would likely also have gone undiscovered.

Every case is horrible, but some are unbelievable. It's beyond comprehension. If they didn't want the other children why didn't they give them up for adoption? How can children be suffering like this for years under everyone's noses? Family members have a lot of questions to answer. If anyone knew about this and didn't speak up they should rot in jail without food as well. Look at their photo's. They both look like they couldn't care less. They look defiant. What animals. U.S. police rescued a disabled six-year-old who was kept in a cage by her parents for months and almost starved to death.
The girl, who has Down syndrome, was eating the flaky skin of her
forehead when she was found by Virginia police, Mail Online reported.
Her parents were also accused of burying another child of their own. They face charges of first degree murder.
Brian and Shannon Gore, the parents, allegedly locked their daughter
up to "protect" her. She was born at home with no medical help, and did
not even have a birth certificate. Therefore, even the neighbors did not
know about the abuse or the buried child. She is assumed to be between 5
and 6.
The naked girl was nearly starving to death and attempted to eat some
of her own skin . The police said that it was one of the worst cases of
child abuse they had seen, according to the Daily Mail.
She was only given one or two Pop Tarts a day.
Naked and covered in feces, she was not even able to walk.
The police found out about the tragedy while investigating for burglaries.
There was another 1-month-old baby at the site, but he was in good
condition. The girl is now being treated at Children's Hospital of the
Kings Daughters, while the boy is at Gloucester Department of Social

their children, including one little girl kept in a makeshift cage in a
darkened bedroom, has been sold and was moved Tuesday off its lot in a
Hayes area mobile home park.The trailer move followed the removal

April 28th is when the child abuse case began. It's a case that has brought the Gloucester County community to a halt.

The home itself where Shannon and Brian Gore lived as well as
their young daughter who was nearly starved to death and reduced to
essentially skin and bones was living is key in this case.

The trailer has since been cleared by the sheriff's office and sold.

NewsChannel 3 did some digging and found that both the owner of the
trailer which is the father of suspect Brian Gore played a hand in the
deal.

NewsChannel 3 was told Owens housing center of Gloucester County was
told by Brian's father to move the trailer out of the mobile home park
at the advice of the mobile home park owner.

Today we attempted to get an idea of where it was moved to or who bought it, but Owens reps refused to answer our questions.

In the May 4, 2011 search warrant 31 items were seized from the Gore's
home including electronics, a child's mattress, some clothes but what
stands out is the amount of pictures.

A copy of the search warrant that NewsChannel 3 obtained mention 11
stand alone photos were seized from the mobile home as well as a packet
of newly developed film.

Professional pictures from a company that is known to take family photos as well as four disposable cameras.

NewsChannel 3 also told you about an escape attempt by Shannon Gore from
Riverside Walter Reed hospital before the murder and child abuse
charges were filed and before she and her husband Brian were arrested
for any of this.

During that attempt court records told us that Shannon attempted to throw away a purse in a drop ceiling at the hospital.

In that purse was another digital camera that was also taken in for evidence.

The state is building its case around the husband and wife couple that has shocked the Gloucester community and the world.

Shannon and Brian Gore were moved to the Norfolk Jail. They were moved their because of concern for their safety.

They are charged with child abuse along with killing their other child.

Highland Park couple charged with murder in 4-year-old's starving death

Highland Park— A Highland Park couple caring for a 4-year-old
nephew who starved to death were charged today with murder, torture and
child abuse. Randy Steven Gardner, 32, solemnly answered "Yes,"
when asked by 30th District Judge Bridgette Officer if he understood the
charges of premeditated first-degree murder, felony murder, torture and
first-degree child abuse. His wife, Matilda Jane Brown Gardner, 30,
shook her head in disagreement as the judge read the charges against
her.

"Yes, but I didn't do anything," Matilda Gardner told the judge.

They are accused of killing Robert Byrd, a nephew whose custody they
had taken in 2009 after his mother died and his father went to prison.
The boy was found dead in their home on Mother's Day. He was 3
feet, 1 inch tall and weighed 24 pounds, said the Wayne County Medical
Examiner's Office. Extensive bruises on the boy's body suggest he might
have been abused in other ways, Highland Park Police said. The
murder charges carry mandatory sentences of life without parole. The
third is punishable by up to life in prison, and the fourth by up to 15
years in prison. The judge ordered both held in the Wayne County Jail
without bond until a May 24 preliminary examination of the evidence
against them. Five other children stayed at the home in the 200
block of California Street but were apparently unhurt, authorities said.
One was the 6-year-old brother of the victim, and the others are the
Gardners' four sons. All five children have been removed from the home. Robert
Byrd and his brother, Anthony Byrd Jr., moved in with the Gardners in
2009 when their father, Anthony Byrd Sr., 31, was jailed for nine months
for felonious assault. Anthony Byrd said he was unable to regain
custody after his release. The boys' mother, Theresa Brown, died from a brain aneurysm in 2007. Connie
Brown, the eldest sister of Matilda Gardner and Theresa Brown, joined
other family members in front of the court after the arraignment. "I no longer have a sister," she said. "The family is done with both Matilda and Randy."

Kiwi, we always agree on these things. This is so horrible as to be incomprehensible. Why, why, why did they not give these precious children up for adoption.

There are so many childless couples who would love to have a precious child to lavish love and attention upon.

Yet still, these scumbags keep murdering them. In the most inhumane ways imaginable.

Something is wrong with a society where children can be abused and murdered in such horrendous ways under everyone's noses and nothing is done to stop it or prevent it.

They are accused of killing Robert Byrd, a nephew whose custody they

They were only interested in collecting state money to house this poor forsaken little boy.

Maybe the Arabs have it right, torture this type of animal to death.
