"Infant John Doe" - 19 Months/ Accused: Kenvon Erving - Lincoln NE

A Lincoln man faces child abuse and assault charges after his girlfriend's son suffered injuries requiring emergency surgery.
Police told KLKN-TV that 20-year-old Kenvon Erving
claimed the 19-month-old boy fell off the couch while he was watching
him June 4. The boy was flown to an Omaha hospital, where police say he
was diagnosed with four broken ribs and a tear to his small intestine.
He underwent surgery and is expected to recover.
Court records show Erving has been charged with
first-degree assault and intentional child abuse causing injury. He's
due in court July 1.
Erving was being held Sunday in the Lancaster County
jail on $100,000 bond. A message left for his public defender wasn't
immediately returned.
