Can a new investigation be launched in new direction?

I think the police investigation efforts is wasted because it was misled by a possible group murder plot engineering by the murders(plural form). The plot could be originating from the secret of the father of the Caylee. Today the mother's former boyfriend said on TV that the mother told him that her brother tried to have sex with her...This will validate a new investigation efforts by those who really care and have the money and power/resources to do it. The result, I think , will bring the justice for Caylee. the police 's mentality in its failed procecution/investigation efforts is jumping to conclusion too soon and being too careless in eliminating other directions.What do you think?
