Two people have been arrested after a 10-month-old boy died Friday in a Denver home.

Lt. Matt Murray, a police spokesman, said Amanda Lujan, 24, the boy's
mother, faces charges of accessory to murder after the fact.

Another woman, 23-year-old Frances Garcia, faces charges of child abuse
resulting in death.
Police were called at 8:30 a.m. Friday to a home on the 800 block of Tennyson Street in Denver.
At the home, 10-month-old Adam Gonzales was found not breathing.
He was declared dead by the Denver County Coroner's Office.
An autopsy will be conducted this weekend to determine the cause and manner of death.

The Denver coroner is performing an autopsy on Adam Gonzales this weekend to determine a cause of death.

Amanda Lujan, 24, the boy's mother, and Frances Garcia, 23, were advised of the charges against them Saturday.

Police describe Garcia as Lujan's girlfriend.

Garcia is facing charges of murder and child abuse. Lujan is facing a charge of accessory to murder.

Adam Gonzales was declared dead Friday morning after Denver police
were called to the 800 block of Tennyson Street on a report that a baby
was not breathing.

Lujan was being held Saturday afternoon on $5,000 bail, and Garcia was being held without bail.

A mother and her friend were charged
today in the death of a 10-month-old who prosecutors say was put in a
closet and covered with a blanket to muffle his crying.

Adam Gonzales was found dead in his home in the 800 block of Tennyson Street last Friday morning.

His mother, Amanda Lujan, 24, is charged with accessory to
first-degree murder and accessory to child abuse resulting in death,
both felonies.

The Denver District Attorney's Office said this afternoon that Lujan
lied to police to try to impede the investigation into her friend,
23-year-old Frances Garcia, who is charged with first-degree murder and
child abuse resulting in death.

Garcia is being held without bond. Lujan is free on $5,000 bond.
