"Newborn John" BABCOCK - 7 Weeks - Seymour (E of Springfield) MO

(Seymour, MO) -- A woman from
Webster County faces child abuse charges after
taking her infant son to
the doctor with a broken leg.
Susan Babcock, 20, faces three felony counts of child abuse.
Investigators say the 7-week old boy's father brought him to the doctor with
a leg injury, that turned out to be a fracture.
Investigators say hospital staff also found healing fractures in both of his arms.
They say another son, a 19-month old, also had a healing fracture in one of his arms.
Court documents (attached below) indicate Babcock admitted to getting upset
with the baby while changing his diaper, and says she pulled on his leg.
They say she also admitted to shaking the baby.
