More sexual assault charges against Dr. Daniel Marshall, Hamilton

On Thursday July 29th, 2010, Dr. Daniel Marshall, a local Pediatrician, was arrested and charged for sexual assault and sexual interference.
The allegations stem from a complaint filed by an 11 year old patient.
Dr. Marshall has had offices located at both 432 Main Street East, and 40 Mohawk Road East, in the City of Hamilton.
The investigation is ongoing and Hamilton Police are asking that anyone with additional information, please contact the Hamilton Police Service, Child Abuse Branch, at 905-540-6375.
UPDATE January 11th, 2011
After announcing the arrest of Dr. Daniel Marshall in July 2010, further victims did contact Hamilton Police. Child Abuse investigators continued to investigate and today he was arrested and charged with 16 counts of Sexual Assault and 18 counts of Sexual Interference.
He is expected to appear for a bail hearing today.

34 more sex charges against pediatrician
A veteran Hamilton pediatrician charged with sexual assault and sexual interference following an 11-year-old boys complaint now faces a total of 36 charges.
Dr. Dan Marshall was arrested at the central Hamilton police station Tuesday morning and charged with 16 counts of sexual assault and 18 counts of sexual interference in addition to the two charges laid July 29 last year.
Marshall, who had already spoken with his lawyer when he presented himself at police headquarters, was then taken to Hamilton court for a bail hearing.
The additional charges follow investigation of further complaints received after the Hamilton police child abuse branch issued an appeal in July.
Police said Dr. Marshall has had offices located at both 432 Main St. E. and 40 Mohawk Rd. E. in Hamilton.
At the time of his arrest in July, Jill Hefley, spokesperson for the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, said the college was conducting an investigation into the doctor, but she could not comment further.
At that time there were are no recorded decisions against him. However, the college does not make complaints public. Only complaints that lead to a hearing and have a decision rendered are public.
