"Newborn Jane Doe" - 8 Weeks/ Accused: Joshua Iceman - Sparta TN

UPPER CUMBERLAND -- A Sparta man was arrested yesterday on charges that
he murdered his girlfriend's baby daughter.
It was the second such arrest in recent days, the two cases unrelated,
District Attorney Randy York commented. The other case occurred in Crossville.
Joshua Iceman, 22, of Sparta, was indicted by the White County grand jury,
which met in special session on Tuesday,
according to White County Sheriff's Detective Chris Isom.
He is charged with aggravated child abuse and felony murder.
On September 3, Iceman brought the eight-week old baby, who had been
in his care while the mother was at work, to the hospital in Sparta,
and doctors there sent the injured infant to Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga, officials said.
Reportedly, the child had suffered broken bones. Two days later, the baby died in the Chattanooga hospital.
Joshua Iceman was booked into the White County jail on September 13, his bond set at $1 million.
