JOHN LOPER - 18 Months - Kingsland GA

KINGSLAND, Ga. -- Police are looking for an 18-month old boy in a remote area near Clarks Bluff Road.

The Kingsland boy disappeared between 2:30 p.m. and 2:40 p.m. today,
according to Camden County Sheriff's Office deputy William Terrell.

Camden County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue, as well as dive
teams have converged at the scene in the rural area near Clarks Bluff
Road.

Police: 18-Month-Old Boy Wondered Off From Home Along St. Marys River

KINGSLAND, Ga. -- Deputies from
Camden County Sheriff's Office and surrounding counties are searching
for a missing 18-month-old boy who disappeared Saturday afternoon from
the family home along the St. Marys River.Officers said they believe John Loper wondered off from a home on the 5000 block of Clarks Bluff Road around 2 p.m.Crews
searched on water and land, using helicopters, boats, divers and
bloodhounds to help look for the child. Early Sunday morning, more
crews arrived to help look for toddler.Officials from the
Sheriff's Office told Channel 4's Jim Piggott that a team from
Equisearch was in Jacksonville when they heard about the search and
came to help.The family tells Channel 4 they are holding out hope and pray that the little boy will be found safe.Anyone
with information that could help officers in their search is asked to
call the Camden County Sheriff's Office at 912-510-5100.

Ga. Toddler's Body Found Under Dock Police: 20-Month-Old Boy Wandered Off From Home Along St. Marys RiverKINGSLAND, Ga.

After an intense search by deputies by the Camden County Sheriff's
Office and a half dozen other agencies, the body of an 20-month-old boy
was located Sunday morning in the St. Marys River behind his maternal
grandparents' home.


John Riley Loper was reported missing about 2:30 p.m. Saturday. Crews
searched on water and land, using helicopters, boats, divers and
bloodhounds to help look for the child throughout the night.

Officials from the Sheriff's Office told Channel 4's Jim Piggott that a
team from Texas EquuSearch that was in Jacksonville when they heard
about the search and came to help.

A flood of volunteers joined the search Sunday morning. The body was found in the water under a dock along Clarks Bluff Road.

"I don't know how I'm going to cope," said the boy's grandmother, Kathy Hill. "That is my baby. That is 50 percent of my life."
William Terrell, spokesman for the Sheriff's Office, called it a tragic
accident and thanked the community for its support during the intense
search.

"We appreciate the outpouring, the prayers and the thoughts, and al the agencies that came out," Terrell said.
