ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. -- A
teenager is missing along with her sister, and the Anderson County
Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help to find them.Claira
“Hope” Mosteller left her home in on Lissa Lane in Anderson sometime
early Saturday evening, deputies said. Hope’s family is concerned
because she needs medication that they say is important to her health
and well-being.

Deputies
said Hope was last seen with her 17-year-old sister, Brooke Mosteller.
The sisters are believed to be together and possibly still in the

Dena Carson is at her wit’s end worrying about the whereabouts of her teenage nieces,
who have been missing since Saturday.
“I am not holding up too well,” Carson said Wednesday. “I’ve been everywhere I know to look.”
Claira Hope Mosteller, 16, and her sister, 17-year-old Brooke
Mosteller, were last seen Saturday afternoon in Carson’s home at 100 Lissa Lane in Anderson.
Investigators are searching for Hope, sheriff’s spokesman Chad
McBride said. Brooke Mosteller is legally an adult who is free to leave home at any time, McBride said.
Carson said she is especially concerned about Hope because she is
supposed to take medication three times daily for a condition involving
tumors on her optic nerves. Without the medication, Carson said, Hope’s
tumors could grow and cause brain damage.
Carson was awarded legal custody of Hope in July, she said. Hope had
previously spent about a year in foster care after being removed from
her mother’s home because of abuse, Carson said.
Hope and her sister are both being home-schooled, Carson said.
According to Carson, Hope and her sister left Carson’s home between 4
p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday while Carson was visiting an ill relative at AnMed Health Medical Center.
“I think someone is hiding them,” Carson said.

Deputies have not yet released any information about how Mosteller was located.Hope
