LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (October 14, 2011)—Foul play hasn’t been ruled out in the disappearance of University of Arkansas Little Rock student Patricia Guardado, 20, who’s been missing since she left home Wednesday to go to class.

Her mother reported her missing Wednesday night after she failed to return home.

Her car was found in a parking lot behind a fast food restaurant.
She’s 5-foot-2, weighs 120 pounds and has dark brown hair and brown eyes.

She was last seen wearing a blue and gray shirt, black slacks and black shoes.

The missing student’s family told police Guardado was carrying a $500 check to pay tuition.

She just started a new job at a bank in North Little Rock, family members said.

Friends say Patricia Guardado didn't hang around too many people. She hung out with "a select few of friends" one University of Arkansas at Little Rock friend and classmate said of the missing Guardado.

Guardado's parents told police that she'd been missing since Oct. 12. They said she had no reason to "run away." Guardado just started work at a bank and on the day she went missing, she had a $500 check to cover tuition.

Her parents said she was excited about the start of the school year.

The longer Guardado stays missing, the more likely it is she's been a victim of foul play, according to the LRPD.

Police found her car "undisturbed" in the parking lot on S. University Avenue. Guardado lives 20 minutes from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock campus.

Police are asking for help.The Little Rock Detective Division is asking the public to call with information about Guardado's disappearance.

Guardado's mother fears her daughter is hurting and in pain. Guardado is 20-years-old, 5'2", weighs 120 pounds, dark hair and dark eyes.

She didn't show up for class on the Oct 12, (Tuesday). Nor did she return texts. Her cell phone is turned off.

UPDATE: Little Rock police confirm that the body found Sunday has been identified as Patricia Guardado, and the death is being ruled a Homicide. The cause of death is still pending. A $1000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest in the case. A tip line has been set up at (501) 580-8706.
