"Infant John" VILLA - 2 yo/ Accused: Reymundo Perez - Bancroft WI

A reckless homicide charge is being sought against a central Wisconsin man in the death of his girlfriend’s two-year-old son.
25-year-old Reymundo Perez of Bancroft is being held under a $100,000
cash bond, while Portage County sheriff’s deputies continue to
investigate.

Officials said Perez was babysitting the toddler while the boy’s
mother was at work last Friday. Paramedics were called, after being told
that the child stopped breathing. But doctors told investigators there
were major injuries consistent with physical abuse.

The boy had been transferred from a Stevens Point hospital to a larger facility in Marshfield where he died.

The mother, Beatriz Villa, was also arrested for child abuse that was not related to the incident which caused his death.
