Police: Coolidge boy missing; 'I run away' note left behind

An 11-year-old Coolidge boy who left his family a note saying "I run away" is missing, police said.

The boy's family heard their home's door open and close around 5:30
a.m. and found the note, according to the Coolidge Police Department.

James Samples was last seen at 8:30 p.m. Monday night near 21st Street and Wilson Avenue in Coolidge.

James has Asperger's Syndrome and takes medication. Police consider him "endangered."
Police believe he is wearing a camouflage army jacket, blue jeans or
sweat pants, and bright green athletic shoes. Samples is 5 feet 5 inches
tall, 140 pounds, and has a small scratch on the right side of his forehead.

The Coolidge Police Department is asking anyone who may have information to call 520-723-5311.

K-9s aid in search for missing Coolidge boy

COOLIDGE, AZ (KPHO) -
Authorities are searching for an 11-year-old boy who disappeared Tuesday from his aunt's home in Coolidge.

James Samples has a form of Autism
called Aspergers. His aunt, Jennifer Felix, said she went to wake up the
boy Tuesday morning and he wasn't in his room.

Felix said his shoes and his jacket were also missing. She said Samples has the mental capacity of a 6-year-old.

Coolidge police and the Pinal County Sheriff's Office are actively searching for the boy.

Samples has reddish-brown short hair and blueish-green eyes. He is about 5'5'.

People with any information about the boy's whereabouts are asked to call the Coolidge Police Department.

James Samples was found hiding by Pinal County sheriff's deputies in an abandoned house near his residence Tuesday afternoon.

During the time he was missing, there had been considerable concern because Samples has a form of Autism called Aspergers.

His aunt, Jennifer Felix, said she went to wake up the boy Tuesday morning and he wasn't in his room.

Felix said his shoes and his jacket were also missing. She said Samples has the mental capacity of a 6-year-old.

Coolidge police and the Pinal County Sheriff's Office actively searched for the boy, aided by K-9s.
