LILY REIGER - 13 Months/ Accused: Jennifer Winkler - St Louis MO

The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney's Office has charged a
30-year-old Eureka woman for the murder of a 13-month-old child.
According to the prosecuting attorney's office, Jennifer Winkler was
charged with second-degree murder and abuse in the death of 13
month-old Lily Rieger.



On July 29th, Rieger was dropped off at Winkler's home in the 100
block of Shaw. Investigators say Winkler was babysitting the child and
believe sometime between 7 a.m. and 2:23 p.m. the child was shaken or
thrown.

An ambulance was called to the home that afternoon, and taken to an
area hospital where doctors determined she had several skull fractures.
On July 31st, Lily Rieger died from her injuries.

Neighbors of Winkler say she ran a daycare out of her home.


"She baby sat a lot. I remembered we would always see cars coming and
leaving to pick up their kids like in the morning and the afternoons,"
says neighbor Kristina Husereau.

Winkler has yet to be taken into custody, but her bond has been set
at $500,000 cash-only. Prosecutors say this case will be turned over to
a grand jury.
