An infant is in critical condition, and her father is behind bars.



Cheyenne Police say they arrested 21-year-old Allen Flanary Wednesday night after being called to the emergency room at Cheyenne Regional and finding a nine-week-old baby, in critical condition.

Flanary, the father of the baby girl, is in jail and charged with Aggravated Child Abuse.

Baby Shannon was flown by helicopter to a Denver hospital where her condition is unknown. The case remains under investigation by Cheyenne Police Detectives.

hospitalized. According to Children's Hospital, Shannon is still in
critical condition.

Her father, 21-year-old, Allen Flanary was arrested Wednesday for Aggravated Child Abuse.

According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause,
the detective who responded to the hospital found bruises, bite marks
and other red marks on her body. The report states "both buttocks of the
child were completely bruised... This bruising went from the buttocks
and was visible on the lower spine area." Upon questioning Mr. Flanary,
the affidavit states "...he was very frustrated with his daughter
because she was fussy and in early afternoon he spanked her..."

The bite marks were found on one of her
forearms and on the left side of her face. In the affidavit, the
detective states, "Allen Flanary also admitted that he intentionally bit
S.F. on her face and left forearm out of anger." The document also says
he admitted to pinching, slapping, and shaking her.

Documents say on Wednesday, a CAT scan of the
child at CRMC revealed a large brain bleed and doctors gave Shannon a
50% chance of survival.

According to the affidavit which was dated
December 8th, Denver Children's Hospital officials stated she was still
on a respirator and her brain bleed was large and of great concern.

Allen Flanary's preliminary hearing will be at the Laramie County Circuit Court on December 19th.

Court documents show he's facing two counts
of Child Abuse resulting in physical injury, each punishable of up
to five years in prison and/or $10,000 fine. He's also charged with one
count of Aggravated Child Abuse resulting in physical injury, punishable
up to 25 years in prison and/or $10,000 fine.

You do not spank a small child. And when on earth did parents ever bite there children to make them behaive? Where not in the stone age. Even stone age people might be apauled. This father has no right to keep his child. Shaking can cause internal damage NEVER shake a baby.

I know Predatorbegone, what is with these sicko parents that bite, burn with cigarettes, and beat defenseless newborn babies. They break their bones and cause the babies pain so they cry more. What the hell do they expect the baby to do when it's in such pain. I think there should be a law that requires a child abusing murderer to be sterilized before leaving jail because they will most likely do it again. They make me so sick.
