"Baby John" ZULUAGA - 6 Months/ Accused: Ruth Zuluaga - Barre MA

A teenage mother who is currently pregnant again is facing abuse charges in the alleged assault and battery of her 6-month-old baby.

The Boston Herald reported on Thursday that 19-year-old Ruth Zuluaga of Barre is being held on $50,000 bail after doctors found her son suffered over a dozen broken bones since birth.

Zuluaga pleaded not guilty to charges of permitting substantial injury to a child, as well as assault and battery and assault with a dangerous weapon in a separate case involving her boyfriend.

The paper also reports that Zuluaga has been hospitalized for mental health problems three times. They say that the child has been removed from Zuluaga by the Department of Children and Families.

Ruth Zuluaga is currently two months pregnant.

People with mental issues should b sterilized. Allowing them to have children only compounds the issues for them AND the children The government already pays for too many children that end up abused &/or dead as it is. I dont feel that everyone has the right to give birth. We have got to put and end to this nonsense.
