"Newborn Doe" - 2 Months/ Accused: John P McGrath - Wisconsin Rapids WI

A 24-year-old Wisconsin Rapids man authorities say shook a 2-month-old is scheduled to make his initial appearance on any related charges Jan. 30 in Wood County Circuit Court.
Authorities arrested John P. McGrath on a charge of child abuse Friday, according to court records. During a bond appearance Friday, Wood County Circuit Judge Nicholas Brazeau set a $5,000 signature bond for McGrath.
According to court documents, McGrath told authorities he shook the child fewer than five times on Jan. 10 when he was home alone with the baby and her young brother.
The baby was admitted to Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital on Wednesday with four rib fractures, bleeding on the brain and retinal hemorrhaging.
As of 1 p.m. today, officials had not filed the charges against McGrath.
