TAMPA — The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office has ruled the death of an 11-month-old child a homicide and charged his mother's live-in boyfriend with murder.



Authorities say Derron Denard Brown admitted to hitting the infant with his shoulder, forearm, head and fist as the child's mother was out running errands.

When Lukrisha Milliner returned home she found her child unresponsive and called for help. Nasir Milliner was taken to Florida Hospital in Tampa, where he died.

A medical examiner ruled Friday the infant had died from blunt impact trauma.

Brown has been charged with murder and aggravated child abuse.

TAMPA - The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office has made an arrest in the death of an 11-month-old baby boy.

According to reports, 24-year-old Derron Brown was caring for his girlfriend's baby, Nasir Milliner, Thursday morning.

The baby's mother, Lukrisha Milliner, had apparently left home for a short time to run errands.

All three of them lived together at 1209 Sand Lake Circle in Tampa, according to sheriff's officials.

When the mother returned home, she reportedly noticed that her son was unresponsive.

Emergency crews were called out to the address, and transported the child to Florida Hospital, where he later died.

When detectives interviewed Brown, he allegedly admitted that he knowingly and intentionally struck the child's torso several times with his shoulder, forearm, head and closed fist.

Friday night, the Hillsborough County Medical Examiners Office determined that the child died due to blunt trauma impact to the torso with liver laceration, and ruled the death a homicide.

Officials say Lukrisha Milliner has fully cooperated during this investigation.

Brown was arrested and charged with premeditated murder in the first degree and aggravated child abuse.

He is currently being held in the Hillsborough County Jail without bond, and is expected to make his first court appearance Sunday morning.

Why can't these Mothers take these babies with them when they do these errands?Aren't these babies ultimately their responsibility not there boyfriends.
