"Baby John" KAMMERER - xx Months (2011) - Tucson AZ

Tucson Police have arrested a woman on felony Child Abuse charges, after her young son was hospitalized last September.
Sgt. Matt Ronstadt says Tucson Police Department's Dependent Child Unit began an investigation, after staff at a local hospital reported that the victim was brought into the hospital weighing only 14 ½ pounds.
According to Ronstadt, despite contributing medical conditions, hospital staff say the boy's low weight could only result from not being provided sufficient nourishment.
Detectives say the victim lived with his mother, 23-year old Ashley Kammerer. Ronstadt says the victim suffered from medical conditions that required special feeding, and Kammerer was not providing the necessary care.
An arrest warrant was issued for Kammerer on January 12, 2012. Detectives located her on Friday, and she was booked into the Pima County Jail.
According to Ronstadt, the victim was placed in temporary custody with Child Protective Services, and he has nearly doubled in weight in the past four months.
