Smyrna police have issued a "Mattie's Call" alert for a mentally
disabled teenager who ran from her home Sunday after an argument with her mother.





Erica Candies Giles, 17, was last seen around 6:15 p.m. Sunday,
leaving her home on foot, according to Smyrna police spokesman Michael Smith.

Smith said Giles is a black female, 5 feet, 6 inches tall, weighing
125 pounds. She has brown eyes and black, braided hair, and was wearing a
blue or black "spaghetti" top and white shorts, and was barefoot when she left home.

Smith asked that anyone with information on the teen call Detective Ron Eaton at 770-434-6666.

SMYRNA – The Smyrna Police Department has canceled a “Mattie’s Call” alert for mentally handicapped 17-year-old Erica Candies Giles after the teen was found on Monday morning.

The teenager, who reportedly went missing around 6:15 p.m. Sunday, left her home after a verbal argument with her mother, said Officer Michael Smith with Smyrna Police. Smith said Giles got scared after arguing with her mother then ran out of the house bare foot and wearing “summer” clothes.

According to police, she returned home after a 16-hour search.
