TRINITY HANNA - 3 yo - Taft/ Bakersfield CA
The coroner has released the name of a 3-year-old Taft girl, investigators believe, was killed by her mother's live-in boyfriend. Trinity Hanna died at San Joaquin Community Hospital Tuesday night. On Wednesday, deputies arrested 26-year-old Eric Foster.
He's being held on eight charges including three counts of felony corporal injury to a child, three counts of felony child abuse, one count of torture, and one count of aggravated mayhem.
Pictures of Trinity Hanna are all over her mother, Angela Vickrey's Facebook page. In one post she calls her daughter "the best thing that has ever happened to me."
The Kern County Sheriff's Department says Vickrey brought her 3-year-old daughter to the emergency room from her home in Taft. Hospital staff tried, but was unable to resuscitate Trinity and she was pronounced dead. Elizabeth Mulikin was in the ER when the little girl was rushed in.
"And, then the nurses and the doctors just started crying and they loved each other, they stood in a bundle and loved on each other," said Mulikin.
Deputies arrested Vickrey's boyfriend, Eric Edward Foster, Wednesday. Deputies say Foster has been charged with domestic violence before. Investigators say he lived with Vickrey and Trinity at a home on Oak Street in Taft.
"We live like five steps away from the front door," said neighbor Carrie Wallace. "We would have heard something and we heard absolutely no screaming, no fighting, nothing."
Neighbors say the three had only lived there about a month and never noticed anything wrong with Trinity.
"They played with her outside and everything. Friendly, the little girl was bouncy of course real active little girl," recalled Wallace.
17 News tried contacting Angela Vickrey, but her family says they are all grieving privately. An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday.

The man accused of killing his girlfriend's 3-year-old daughter is facing a murder charge. The coroner said Thursday, the toddler died of blunt force trauma to the head and abdomen and her death has been ruled a homicide.
26-year-old Eric Foster is set to be in court Friday, facing charges of first degree murder, child abuse, felony injury to a child, and torture for the death of Trinity Hanna.
"We saw the cops go down there, but we didn't figure it was for that house. We just saw them at the corner. But, the next morning we found out what had happened and it just kind of was a shocker," said neighbor Mikali Russell.
Trinity died Tuesday night at San Joaquin Community Hospital after her mother, Angela Vickrey, brought her there from their home in Taft. On Wednesday, Sheriff's Deputies arrested Vickrey's live-in-boyfriend, Foster. Deputies believe he abused and tortured the little girl.
"I never in my wildest dreams would have thought that my nephew would have done this," said Paula Harris, Eric Foster's aunt.
Paula Harris told 17 News her nephew would snap easily when he was mad. "He was a good kid. He just had a temper that snapped, getting upset, screaming," said Harris.
Harris said Foster was physically abused as a child and when he was in trouble, he was punished with a whip.
"I never thought he would do anything to a child. But, he shouldn't have done what he did. But, it happened, and there ain't nothing you can do to change it or bring that baby back," continued Harris.
Neighbors said they hadn't seen Vickrey at her home since her daughter died. Vickrey's former employer wouldn't talk to 17 News on camera, but said Child Protective Services had visited Vickrey's home earlier this month after Trinity was burned in a hot bath.
Child Protective Services would not talk to 17 News about the case. CPS said they can't say anything until the investigation is complete.
Foster has been charged with domestic violence before. He was arrested in August for battery on a spouse. He served 13 days in jail and was scheduled to return to court in April to show proof he had finished his counseling.

A Facebook campaign is underway, urging people to leave their porch lights on from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. in tribute and memory of 3-year-old Trinity Monique Hanna of Taft.
"I just wanted our community to remember her," said Sarah Davis.
Davis lives in Taft, the mother of a 4-year-old. Davis did not personally know the little girl who died, apparently at the hands of her own care givers.
The Facebook campaign called Porch Lights On For Trinity has gone national, with responses pouring in from such places as Missouri, Arkansas, Texas and Oklahoma.
And people in Taft and other places are leaving their porch lights on not just to remember Trinity, but to raise awareness about child abuse, said Davis.
"My light is on full blast! Rest in peace, beautiful," reads one comment on Facebook.
Others lament the loss of an innocent little girl.
An autopsy reveals Trinity suffered blunt-force trauma to her head and abdomen. Kern County Sheriff's investigators arrested Eric Foster Luna and booked him on suspicion of murder. Foster Luna is the live-in boyfriend of Angela Vickrey, Trinity's mother.
The porch lights on for Trinity campaign will last for one week.

— A man has pleaded not guilty to charges that include murder, torture and child abuse in the wake of a 3-year-old Taft girl's death.

Eric Foster, who also goes by the last name of Luna, appeared Friday in Kern County court for the first time to face accusations that he beat his live-in girlfriend's child to death.
Trinity Monique Hanna died Tuesday night after her mother, Angela Vickrey, rushed her to Bakersfield's San Joaquin Community Hospital.
Medical staff couldn't revive the girl, and Kern County deputies were called when the hospital staff noticed obvious signs of trauma, the sheriff's office said.
Foster is being held in jail without the option of posting bail.

A young Taft girl was beaten, scalded and slammed into a coffee table by her mother's live-in boyfriend, leading to the child's death, newly-released court documents say.
Trinity Hanna, 3, died Tuesday at San Joaquin Hospital where her mother, Angela Vickery, took her for treatment. Vickery's boyfriend, 26-year-old Eric Edward Foster, was arrested Wednesday and initially booked on child abuse and torture charges.
When the coroner determined the girl had died of a homicide, of blunt force trauma to the head and abdomen, investigators tacked on a first-degree murder charge.
Foster was set to enter a plea to the charges in a Kern County courtroom Friday afternoon.
Doctors told deputies the little girl arrived unresponsive with bruises over most of her body, and a healing second-degree burn on her back.
The girl also had severe swelling and discoloration to her genital area and thighs, medical staff told deputies.
After being advised of his Miranda rights, detectives say Foster admitted to the crime.
"Eric Foster confessed to intentionally burning Trinity's back with hot water, slamming her down on a bicycle seat injuring her vagina, and intentionally causing Trinity to fall and strike her head on a coffee table," a deputy wrote in an arrest report filed with the court.
"The abuse took place during three separate incidents over a period of a month."
In Taft, Foster’s brother told 17 News Foster became involved in methamphetamine abuse six years ago, and it changed his personality. He became isolated, bad-tempered and prone to violent outbursts, the brother said.

and the mother continued to live with him and allowed the torture of her to continue. she should b charged also. why was a man, not the child's father doing giving the child a bath anyway? this just makes me sick.

Welcome and sorry for the loss of an innocent baby's life. It's such a tragedy especially when it should have never happened. According to the article above the murder is a drug addict. Why would the mother bring a drug addict into her home and allow him to care for her baby especially when he's prone to anger and violent outbursts? If you would read some of the stories on this forum you would see that it happens over and over again. Mothers bringing boyfriends into their homes, allowing them to babysit their precious babies and then the baby ends of abused, beaten and dead. Of course mothers bear a responsibility to make sure beyond a shadow of a doubt that any man they are involved with is a respectable person with no records. Only close loved ones or certified professionals should be taking care of babies. Here is the statement from the article I'm referring to:
"In Taft, Foster’s brother told 17 News Foster became involved in methamphetamine abuse six years ago, and it changed his personality. He became isolated, bad-tempered and prone to violent outbursts, the brother said.."
