"Infant John" MILLER - 21 Months/ Accused: Mother-Porshia Miller and BF - Boyce/ Shreveport LA

A Boyce mother and her boyfriend face murder charges in connection
with the death of the woman's 21-month-old child, according to the
Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office.
Jaymes Lamar Harris, 24, and
Porshia LaRue Miller, 20, both of 719½ Mayo St., each have been charged
with one count of second-degree murder.
"We haven't released the
name of the child due to next-of-kin notification," Rapides sheriff's
deputy Stephen Phillips said. "(Miller), the child's mother, isn't from
the area."
The child, who died Tuesday, was not stabbed or shot,
Phillips said. The death was ruled a homicide on Wednesday after an
autopsy.
"We talked to residents and family members at the scene
and statements made were not consistent," Phillips said. "The child had
injuries all over the body."
Miller and Harris, her live-in
boyfriend, were arrested Wednesday and were booked into the Rapides
Parish Jail, where they remain. Each has a bond of $500,000.
