The boy was last seen in the pool area of a home in Isabella County.

The missing child is identified as Carnell Chamberlain.

He is about three feet tall with short dark
hair and green eyes and was last seen wearing a dark shirt with "Angry
Birds" written on the front.

He also had on dark blue or green shorts with green trim.

The home he went missing from is on Tomah Drive near Preston Street in Mount Pleasant.

Firefighters will search until it's dark tonight for a missing 4-year-old boy near Mt. Pleasant.

That search team has grown throughout the day, beginning around 100 and right now reaching more than 150 volunteers. Nearly 80 firefighters are looking for Carnell Chamberlain.

His family reported him missing around 10p.m. Thursday night from their home on the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Reservation.

Tribal police say they're investigating the circumstances surrounding his disappearance.

More than a dozen agencies are involved in the search.

Police, volunteers search for missing Mt. Pleasant boy, 4

MT. PLEASANT — Police and volunteers are searching for a
4-year-old from the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe who was reported
missing by his family in mid-Michigan.
Tribal Public Relations Director Frank Cloutier tells the Associated Press that the search was
ongoing Friday in the Mt. Pleasant area after Carnal Chamberlain was
reported missing Thursday night. More than a dozen agencies were
involved in the search, which was led by tribal police.

In some reports, the child's first name was spelled Carnel. Cloutier says
the circumstances surrounding his disappearance were under investigation.

Tribal members and others participated in the
search, which included Saginaw Chippewa tribe land about 120 miles
northwest of Detroit. WSGW-AM reports a least 100 volunteers gathered
Friday morning to help.

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The FBI has
joined the investigation into the disappearance of a 4-year-old boy
from the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe in mid-Michigan. Authorities say
they've identified a "person of interest" in the case.

The Mount Pleasant Morning Sun reports Saginaw Chippewa Tribal
Police released a statement early Saturday calling Carnell
Chamberlain's disappearance "mysterious." The statement didn't say if
authorities had spoken to the person of interest.
Tribal spokesman Frank Cloutier said in a statement late Friday
afternoon that the search was ongoing in the Mount Pleasant area after
Chamberlain was reported missing around 10 p.m. on Thursday. More than
a dozen agencies were involved in the search.

Seventy-eight firefighters and more than 150 volunteers searched a
1-mile radius of where the boy last was seen, about 120 miles northwest
of Detroit.

MOUNT PLEASANT - Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Police now are calling Thursday
night’s disappearance of a 4-year-old boy in the Isabella Reservation
near Mount Pleasant, Mich., “suspicious” and the FBI has joined the
investigation.A statement released early Saturday morning said investigators have a
“person of interest” in mind, but did not identity that person. It gave
no indication whether police were talking to the person of interest.
Felony crimes involving Native Americans committed on Indian
reservations fall under federal jurisdiction. The missing by, Carnell
Chamberlain, 4, is a member of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe.
“Their investigation moves forward from this point,” said the statement from Tribal spokesman Frank Cloutier.
Carnell was supposed to be with his family at their Tomah Road home
east of Mount Pleasant Thursday evening when his mother discovered she
couldn’t find him, Cloutier said.
“They started to look,” Cloutier said. “There was a bit of a panic.”
The family called Tribal Dispatch shortly after 10 p.m., and the search was on.
Search efforts, led by bloodhounds and volunteer searchers, were
concentrated in an area bordered by Remus, Shepherd, Leaton and Tomah roads.
An Aeromed helicopter searched the area in the early morning hours as
groups of volunteers hit the streets, woods and fields calling the boy’s name.
After dawn Friday, volunteers were spaced every few hundred yards and a
command center was set up on Tomah Road near the Tribal campground as
officials continued to search a one-square-mile area of the Isabella
Indian Reservation.

densely wooded area on the Saginaw Chippewa Indian reservation.

Authorities
said they've identified an unnamed person of interest in the search for
Carnell Chamberlain, who was reported missing Thursday night. The Mt.
Pleasant Morning Sun reported police were focusing on the boyfriend of
Carnell's mother.

"The mother has been fully cooperative in this
developing investigation," Frank Cloutier, a spokesman for the Saginaw
Chippewa Indian Tribe, said in a statement Saturday. "The boyfriend,
however, has not fully cooperated in the investigation thus far."

On
Saturday evening, the boy's mother, 21-year-old Jaimee Chamberlain,
told the Mt. Pleasant Morning Sun she had just gotten home from her job
at Isabella's restaurant at the Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort on
Thursday when she learned her son was missing. She looked around her
yard, and "knew something happened" when he wasn't near the house.

"My
son's not a wanderer," she told the Morning Sun. "I always thought I'd
have one of those kids you almost need a leash for, but he never went
far, he stuck close."

Tribal spokeswoman Marcella Hadden said Saturday morning that
volunteers and police from the region were looking for Carnell in woods
near a medical clinic.

Seventy-eight firefighters and more than 150
volunteers searched a 1-mile area around where the boy was seen last,
about 120 miles northwest of Detroit.

On Saturday evening, Tribal
Fire Department members were searching through a Dumpster on East Tomah
Road in Mt. Pleasant in connection with the investigation, the Mt.
Pleasant Morning Sun reported.

A tribal web posting describes Carnell as 3 feet tall, with green
eyes, short dark brown hair and last seen wearing a dark Angry Birds
T-shirt and blue or green shorts with green trim.

"I want to say
to whoever has him, can you please bring my son home? I just want him
back, I'll give whatever amount of money or I don't care what. I just
want him home," Chamberlain said, according to the Mt. Pleasant Morning
Sun.

“There’s probably 15 different agencies helping out,” Cloutier said
Friday. More than 150 volunteers were part of the search, searching the
square-mile area around the house foot by foot. Volunteers came from the
Tribal community, the community at large, and included workers at the
Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort, the Soaring Eagle Waterpark and Tribal Operations.
Carnell Chamberlain is described as a 4-year-old Native American boy,
approximately 3 feet tall with short dark hair and green eyes. He was
wearing a dark-colored Angry Birds T-shirt and dark blue or green shorts with green trim.
The Tribe did not request an Amber Alert. According to U.S. Justice
Department guidelines, Amber Alerts may be issued only if local police
confirm there has been an abduction.

Tribal Police and rescue workers searched a
wastewater treatment pond visible from Carnel Chamberlain’s home on
Tomah Road on Sunday while a crowd of spectators gathered to watch.
Marcella Hadden, public relations manager from the Saginaw Chippewa
Indian Tribe, said the ponds were being searched to exhaust all
locations the boy, who has been missing since Thursday, might be.
Down the road, search efforts in a grid between Leaton and Shepherd
roads were called off around 5:30 p.m. Search and rescue experts called
the search because the area had been combed thoroughly.
Hadden said if search efforts needing volunteers continue on Monday,
volunteers would be called and information would be posted on the
Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe’s website and on its Facebook page.
Hadden said more than 100 volunteers joined the search on Sunday.
Rumors swirled Sunday evening that Carnel had been found, but Hadden said that is not true. Search efforts continue.
Michigan State Police cadaver dogs joined the investigation into the
disappearance of the 4-year-old Saginaw Chippewa Indian boy early Sunday

Police cadaver dogs have joined the search for a 4-year-old boy reported missing last week from a Michigan Indian reservation.


Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe spokesman Frank Cloutier said
authorities planned to regroup on Monday after search teams, including
the cadaver dogs and FBI agents, scoured a densely wooded area Sunday
for Carnell Chamberlain off the reservation near Mount Pleasant.

The mother of a 4-year-old boy reported missing from a mid-Michigan
Indian reservation said Monday she is holding out hope that he'll be
found safe as additional searches were planned.

Jaimee Chamberlain, 21, told The Associated Press on Monday that her
son, Carnel Chamberlain, was being cared for by her boyfriend at her
home near Mount Pleasant when the child disappeared Thursday.

She said when she got home from work that night, her boyfriend — who
regularly spent time with her and the child — told her Carnel wasn't there.

"I ran inside and looked around. I didn't know what to do," said
Chamberlain, who went to a neighbor's home to see if she could find
Carnel and then called police.

After staying home during the early portion of the search at the request
of police, Chamberlain said she has been joining those looking for her son.

"I just want my son home and I don't want people to stop looking," she said.

Authorities planned to regroup Monday after search teams, the FBI,
police dogs and more than 100 volunteers scoured the area Sunday, said
Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe spokesman Frank Cloutier. Crews on Sunday
also searched ponds at a wastewater treatment plant near the child's

It's soooo frustrating isn't it Tom? The mother who is only 21 now must have got pregnant when she was 15. How many boyfriends did poor Carnel suffer before this one who has probably killed him? And the last article sorts out the spelling of his name so I've changed the title.

Important Message To Single Young Mothers: Don't use your boyfriends for babysitters while you work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And it would be a good idea to have a boyfriend who works if you must have one!

MOUNT PLEASANT, MI — Authorities are in the fifth day of searching for a missing 4-year-old boy on the Isabella Federal Reservation in Mount Pleasant.

Carnel Chamberlain's mother, Jaimee Chamberlain, reported him missing Thursday night when she returned home from work to find the boy gone.

She left him in the care of her 20-year-old boyfriend, who is believed to be the last person to see Carnel Chamberlain.

The Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Police are heading the search with assistance from the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Carnel Chamberlain stands three foot tall and weighs 37 pounds. He has short dark hair and green eyes. He was last seen wearing a dark colored Angry Birds T-shirt and dark blue or green pants with a green trim.
