A new documentary is examining the baffling case of Gina Dejesus, who
was 14-years-old when she vanished in April 2004 while walking home
from school on Cleveland's west side.

Gina's father, Felix DeJesus, says "It brings memories how my daughter
was, because right now I don't know what they are doing to her. The sad
thing is about this, us parents that have missing kids, we don't know
and not knowing is what tears you apart."

The producer of "Where is Gina?" calls it a spiritual project.

Ruben Reyes says, "Missing children, it's something that touched my
heart, and I think that we have to try to stop this happening to other
kids."

The family of Gina DeJesus has never given up hope that she will be found alive.

They are hoping that the film and new age enhanced photos of Gina will
generate the call they have been waiting for, for more than five years.

Gina's mother, Nancy Ruiz, says "By other people seeing this, maybe it
will click. Maybe something, maybe they'll say 'wow, I remember this
girl', maybe they can remember something that they saw or heard that
day. Then they can be able to come forward and say it."

The documentary will premiere at 7:00 p.m. on October 24th at the First
Spanish Baptist Church of Cleveland, at 6800 Denison Avenue.

A $25,000 dollar reward to still be offered for information on the whereabouts of Gina DeJesus.

Her picture has been displayed throughout the Cleveland area since
her mysterious disappearance six years ago.


Now, minor league
baseball fans throughout North Central Pennsylvania will also see Gina
DeJesus every time they look at the Williamsport Crosscutters' team
photo. Former baseball player Dennis Bair has been enlisting the
help of minor league teams to display the photos of missing children on
their team photos. Gina's photo is the sixth. Bair got the idea
when he ran across an old photo of former Pittsburgh Steeler Rocky
Bleier and realized team photos don't get tossed in the trash like
flyers and milk cans. "I'm trying to bring hope to parents of
missing children," Bair said. Gina's mother Nancy Ruiz will
travel to Williamsport, Pennsylvania Tuesday for the 7:05 p.m. game
between the Crosscutters and the Connecticut Tigers. "I think
it's awesome," Ruiz said. "Another way of me getting my baby out there."

On April 2nd, 2004 Gina DeJesus left Wilbur Wright Middle School,
walked to W. 105th and Lorain Road and vanished without a trace. Seven
years later, the pain remains fresh for Gina's mother, Nancy Ruiz.
It's the not knowing that is unimaginable unless you're the parent of a
missing child. "It gets harder each day, each week, each month and each
year," Ruiz said. The family is organizing an annual sad
tradition for Saturday night - a vigil to pray that someone will come
forward with information on Gina's whereabouts. Gina was only
14-years-old when she disappeared. Now, she'd be 21. Age-progression
pictures, released by the FBI, show what she may look like today. On Saturday afternoon, relatives posted missing persons flyers around the west side of Cleveland. FBI special agent, Scott Wilson, said investigators continue to get tips on Gina's disappearance on a weekly basis. A few weeks ago, agents followed a lead that Gina could be in Florida, but the girl turned out to be a look-a-like, Wilson said. "We
work as hard as we can. These agents and detectives have children too
and I know they come in here on a weekly basis hoping that we can find
out what happened to Gina," Wilson said. In the meantime, Ruiz
made an emotional statement, hoping her daughter will see it. "We love
you. We're not going to stop looking for you, no matter how long it
takes. We will fight every single day with every strength in my body. I

walking home from school. But her family has not given up hope they will
find her alive.
Gina DeJesus would be 22 years old on the eighth anniversary of her disappearance: April 2, 2004.
Gina
left Wilbur Wright Middle School in the afternoon that day in 2004. She
walked to West 105th St. and Lorain Avenue, and then vanished without a
trace.
Monday evening at that very spot, Gina's parents will
hold a heart-wrenching annual vigil to keep their daughter's name in the
news, and give her family another opportunity to show Gina's photo to
the public. The vigil is set for 6:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome.
Gina's
parents often have talked with NewsChannel5 and newsnet5.com about
their daughter's disappearance. Gina's mother, Nancy Ruiz, said not
knowing what happened to her daughter never gets easier, despite the
passage of time.
"It gets harder each day, each week, each month
and each year," Ruiz said last year, on the seventh anniversary of
Gina's disappearance.
Over the years, several people and
organizations in the region have committed to helping find DeJesus,
including the Akron Aeros. Her photo was featured on the minor league
team's photos last year .
Another
Cleveland teen vanished from the same area as Gina, one year before
Gina went missing. Moreover, Amanda Berry was last seen just blocks away
from the last place Gina was seen. Amanda left the Burger King at West 110th Street and Lorain Avenue and was never seen or heard from again. That was on April 21, 2003.
