"Infant John" STROUP - 4 months (2009) - Lockport NY

LOCKPORT—A Royalton man who injured his 4-month-old son last fall
pleaded guilty to a reduced charge Wednesday in Niagara County Court. David
W. Stroup Jr., 26, of Rochester Road, admitted to attempted second-
degree assault and was scheduled for sentencing May 19 by Judge Matthew
J. Murphy III. Deputy District Attorney Holly E. Sloma said the
boy suffered fractured arms, legs and shoulders. Stroup was arrested in
December after sheriff’s deputies received a report of child abuse Nov.
23 from Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. The abuse lasted from
Sept. 11 to Nov. 22, court papers said.
