Bloomington CA ---- A Bloomington teen has been missing for 10 days and
sheriff's investigators are asking for the public's help in locating
her.
Anyssia Escamilla, 17, was last seen at 1:30 p.m. May 11 when she
Bloomington High School to walk home. She does not have a car and has
not tried to contact her family or 3-year-old son, which officials say
is unusual behavior.
She was last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt, blue jeans and flip flops.
Anyssia has a small scar above her right eye and has no tattoos or
piercings.
Anyone with information on Anyssia's whereabouts is asked to call
sheriff's deputies at 909-356-6767 or sheriff's dispatch at
909-387-8313.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department has issued a
missing person alert regarding a 17-year-old Bloomington High School
student.

Anyssia Escamilla did not return home after school on
May 11 and her family reported her missing. She left the school at 1:30
p.m. and has not been heard from since then.

Her family advised
deputies that she has not run away or gone missing in the past. She
does not have a car and has not attempted contact with family, friends
or her 3-year-old son. Anyssia's son was with family members while she
attended school.

Anyssia was last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt,
blue jeans, and flip flops. She has a small scar above her right eye
and has no tattoos or piercings.



Anyone who contacts Anyssia or has information regarding her
whereabouts is asked to contact the San Bernardino County Sheriff's

An 18 year old Fontana man is under arrest, accused of murdering his 17
year old girlfriend who was three months pregnant with his baby.

Jesus Francisco Avita Jr. is being held at the West Valley Detention
Center in Fontana on charges of murder, according to Fontana police
officials.



Avita is accused of killing 17 year old Anyssia Katherine Escamilla of
Bloomington. She was reported missing on May 11th by family members when
she didn't return home from school.

Although Escamilla's body has not yet been found, detectives say they
have enough evidence to charge Avita with murder and that he indicated
that he knew Escamilla was dead. The circumstances surrounding the crime
have not yet been released.

A 17-year-old Bloomington girl who had been reported missing by
her family is believed to have been murdered, and her boyfriend has been
arrested for allegedly committing the crime, according to the Fontana
Police Department.

Anyssia Katherine Escamilla, a Bloomington
High School student, had been missing since May 11, and Jesus Francisco
Avitia, Jr., 18, is being held at West Valley Detention Center in lieu
of bail on the charge of murder, said Sergeant Billy Green of the
Fontana P.D.

"Anyssia's body has not been recovered and Fontana
P.D. detectives are actively working the case," Green said on Friday.
"All current investigative leads cause investigators to believe Anyssia
has been murdered and Avitia was in fact an active participant in her
death."

Anyssia did not return home after school on May 11 and
her family reported her missing. Her family told San Bernardino County
Sheriff's Department deputies that Anyssia had not run away or gone
missing in the past. She does not have a car and did not attempt to
contact family members, friends, or her 3-year-old son.



During a follow-up investigation by the Sheriff's Department,
detectives spoke to her boyfriend Avitia. Anyssia was believed to be
about three months pregnant with Avitia's baby.

While speaking
with Sheriff detectives, Avitia claimed to know for certain that Anyssia
was deceased. Because Avitia indicated that Anyssia's apparent death
had occurred in Fontana, the Sheriff's Department notified the Fontana
P.D., and Fontana detectives assumed the investigation.

On Friday
at about 1:30 p.m., the Fontana P.D. received information from the
Sheriff's Department that a homicide had likely occurred, and so Avitia
was arrested.

A Fontana teenager allegedly
admitted to killing his pregnant girlfriend and dumping her body in a
trash can, prompting detectives to launch an extensive search Monday at
two landfills.

Jesus Francisco Avitia Jr., 18, is expected to be charged today
with the death of Anyssia Katherine Escamilla, who was three months
pregnant with his child.

Both Avitia and the 17-year-old victim attended Bloomington
High School, where Anyssia was last seen May 11.

"My daughter is my hero. She is a great young lady who only
wanted to keep her baby," said Priscilla Escamilla, choking back sobs as
her husband and sister squeezed her hands in support. "I loved her so
much. I want her back."

Police say they arrested Avitia on Friday after he failed a
lie detector test and admitted to wrapping Anyssia's body in garbage
bags and putting her in a trash can outside a home in South Fontana.

Using detailed records kept by sanitation workers, police have
narrowed down the likely areas where Anyssia's body could be to a 50 by
25 yard spot in Mid-Valley landfill and a Corona landfill.

While a bulldozer carefully combed the Rialto landfill Monday,
search dogs were used to sniff out any scent of Anyssia. The search is
expected to take up to three days.

"If we do not find her remains here, a similar investigation
will be done in Corona," said Sgt. Billy Green.

Police have not released a cause of death or motive for
Anyssia'sslaying.

The couple had been dating a year but apparently kept their
involvement secret from Avitia's parents, who could not be reached for
comment Monday.

"His parents didn't approve of her when they found out she had
a 3-year-old little boy," Priscilla Escamilla said, dissolving into
tears. "My grandson grabs her picture and says `Nana, where are you?' He
calls her name and he cries."

She said she was thrilled to be a grandmother and was making
plans to help Anyssia raise her unborn child.

The victim's family said Avitia was "nice and quiet" and they
never suspected that he would harm Anyssia, who had just started looking
at colleges so she could provide her children with a better life.

Anyssia's oldest brother said Avitia helped the family pass
out missing person fliers and repeatedly said how much he missed her.

"He played that off like it was a movie," said Isaiah
Escamilla, 22, who wore a T-shirt with his sister's picture on it. "But I
have to deal with this the rest of my life and I don't get to see my
sister anymore."

The family spent several hours sitting beneath a tent mere
yards away from where searchers picked through piles of trash, looking
for any sign of Anyssia's body.

Jorge Escamilla often reached down to touch a rosary hung
around his neck.

"She was the best child and my only daughter," he said.
"(Avitia) had no right to take my child."

Avitia remains jailed, held without bail at West Valley
Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga.

Investigators and volunteers continued to search a Southern
California landfill Tuesday for the body of pregnant 17-year-old Anyssia
Escamilla, as her boyfriend pleaded not guilty to two counts of murder.

Bail was set at $2 million for 18-year old
Jesus Avitia, Jr., who was arraigned in San Bernardino County Superior Court.
The search began Monday after police say
Avitia Jr. admitted that he had killed Escamilla, who was three-months
pregnant with their unborn child, and then dumped her body in a trash.
"He did indicate that he was responsible for her death and had put
her into a trash can after he killed her, which is what brought us
here," Sgt. Billy Green said at a news conference Monday at a Rialto
landfill.Escamilla hasn't been seen since May 11, when she
disappeared from Bloomington High School, where she was a junior.
Although police have not yet released a motive
for the crime or the cause of death, Escamilla's parents said Avitia's
family disapproved of the relationship because she had a 3-year-old son
from a previous relationship. "She's a brave young lady who only
wanted to keep her baby," her mother, Priscilla Escamilla, said
tearfully. Priscilla Escamilla had planned to help her daughter
raise her two children while Anyssia pursued her education. "That
was her main goal: to finish school and get a career to help her
provide for her babies," Priscilla Escamilla said.The teen's father,
Jorge Escamilla, said he was extremely grateful for everyone's help. "I
think that because they are here looking for my daughter, and they know
the pain that I have inside me, and they understand, and they're going
to get my daughter," he said.

I don't want to speak ill of the deceased but I'd hate to let the families comments go, as it contributes to our society becoming insensitized to what shouldn't be tolerated. Anyssia had her first baby at 14 years old. At 17 and still going to school she gets pregnant again and was going to keep the baby. Her mother calls her a hero. Her mother was excited about her having another baby. WTH???????
Anyssia was going to finish school and provide for her children. Yeah right. Obviously the boyfriend felt trapped and took drastic steps.
Too tragic all round. How did we get from being ashamed of sleeping around and getting up the duff, to being a hero for doing it?

An ongoing search for the body of a pregnant
Bloomington teen was delayed Tuesday after a large piece of pig's skin
was discovered at a Rialto landfill, police say.
While search crews excavated a section of the Mid-Valley Landfill for
any sign of 17-year-old Anyssia Escamilla, they found a piece of skin
about 4:30 p.m. and sent it to the coroner's office for examination.
By the time tests determined that the skin was from a pig, it was too
late to finish the search. The work is expected to be completed late
this afternoon. If Anyssia is not found, crews will begin looking at a
Corona landfill tomorrow morning.
Anyssia's boyfriend pleaded not guilty Tuesday to two counts of murder
in the presumed deaths of the girl and her unborn child. Jesus Avitia,
18, remains jailed on $2 million bail.
Police arrested him Friday after he allegedly confessed to killing
Anyssia and dumping her body in a trash bin near his south Fontana home.
The manner of death has not been disclosed.

A large piece of skin found in a landfill during a search for a
pregnant girl's body turned out to be part of a pig, leading authorities
Wednesday to resume excavating tons of trash in an effort to find the
17-year-old's remains.Police, dogs and a sheriff's
search-and-rescue team have been excavating a 50-by-25-yard area of a
Rialto landfill since Monday for Anyssia Escamilla, whose boyfriend is
charged with killing her and dumping her in the garbage.The team
of about 50 diggers spotted the skin Tuesday, but the coroner's office
determined it did not belong to the Bloomington High School student,
Fontana police said."It looks like someone just skinned a pig and

Exactly--is seems that not only do males make notches on their bedpost but females also anymore. Pretty sad state of affairs when a child of 17 is called a hero for having more children. People have no shame anymore, anything & everything is accepted, to be otherwise would infringing on their rights. Yes my dear, we live in a really screwed up society and the babies are the ones that pay.

Does anyone know any more info on this case? I have not been able to find ANYTHING

i don't think her mother calling her a hero was really said for people to trash her. realistically speaking, shes not the only child who has gotten pregnant at age 14. kids are getting pregnant left and right and at younger and younger ages. do you know the situation that caused her to get pregnant? were you there? im guessing not. its not okay to judge people without knowing the situation they were in. would you want people to say those things about you if you were in that situation? have a heart. shes missing and they're searching for her body. there is now a mother without a child, and a child without a mother. FOCUS ON WHATS IMPORTANT.
