The BARNES-TURNER Children - Clarksburg (E of Parkersburg) WV

Clarksburg A Harrison county couple was arraigned in court Monday
morning after being arrested on counts of child neglect and abuse. Justin Barnes, 25, and Sara Turner, 26, of Clarksburg, are each facing
four counts of child neglect resulting in injury and four counts of
child abuse resulting in injury. Information from the West Virginia Division of Health and Human
resources say their 3-year-old daughter was found to have extensive
bruises on her shoulder and legs and a broken wrist; their 2-year-old
son had a broken leg, a head injury, hand and fingernail marks around
and face injuries, and the 1-month-old girl had two broken ribs, which
officials say are from two separate occasions. Police say neither party is taking responsibility for the injuries. Both are facing one to five years on each count, which could total 8-40
years. Barnes and Turner are both being held on $400,000 bond, cash or surety.

Mother Sentenced on Child Neglect Charges

A Harrison County mother will be behind bars for the next one to ten years on child neglect charges.
A judge sentenced Sara Dawn Turner, 27, to one to ten years in jail for
not getting her kids away from her former boyfriend, 25-year-old Justin
Barnes, that was abusing them.
Barnes was sentenced in January to two to ten years in jail on child
abuse resulting in serious bodily injury charges. His was also part of a
plea.
The three kids were taken away from Turner.
On Monday she told the judge that she knew her kids were being abused
but that Barnes threatened to kill her or take her kids away from her if
she ever told anyone what was happening.
Turner has 120 days to ask the court to reconsider her sentencing.
She is set to turn herself in at the North Central Regional Jail next Monday by noon.
