ALICIA DANIELLE DeBOLT - 14 yo -(2010) Great Bend (NW of Wichita) KS
Local authorities have enlisted the help of the Kansas Bureau of
Investigation in locating a teenage Great Bend girl missing since
Saturday night.Alicia DeBolt, 14, was last seen at about 11 p.m.
Saturday when she left her house to go to a party in southeast Great
Bend with a 19-year-old male friend, said Holly DeBolt, Alicia’s
sister-in-law. Alicia had outlined her plans with her mother Tammy
DeBolt before leaving their home at 910 Stone.Shortly after, she failed to meet
a friend of hers at a convenience store on east 10th Street, Holly said.According
to Great Bend Police Detective David Bailey, the family reported Alicia
missing late Sunday morning. The Great Bend Police Department is
following up on several leads, but "we are having some problems locating
her."The case didn’t qualify for an Amber Alert since Alicia
willingly got into the vehicle. However, Bailey said the GBPD contacted
the KBI which issued a state-wide media alert.

Alicia Danielle DeBolt is five-foot-four, weighs 115 pounds, and has brown hair and blue
eyes. She was wearing blue jeans shorts, a white T-shirt with the word
"Haters" on it over a teal tank top, and white high-top sneakers with
neon colors on the sides.Monday would have been Alicia’s first
day at Great Bend High School as a freshman. She was a cheerleader and
missed a GBHS Panther Booster Club dinner Sunday night, an event that
was very important to her, Holly said.Anyone with information is urged to call
the GBPD at 620-793-4120, 911, or Crime Stoppers at 620-792-1300 or 888-305-1300.

The Kansas Attorney General's office
says a body has been found a few miles outside of Great Bend. The news
came late Tuesday afternoon during the search for a missing 14-year-old girl.
Investigators say the body was not easily identifiable.
An autopsy will be conducted at the Sedgwick County Forensic Science Center
in Wichita. Positive identification is expected Wednesday.
Alicia DeBolt was last seen Saturday, August 21.
Her mother, Tammy Conrad, says DeBolt left their
Great Bend house around 11:00 p.m. with a 19-year-old man to go to a
party. The two were supposed to meet another friend at a nearby gas
station, but they never showed up. DeBolt then missed her midnight curfew.
Great Bend Police Chief Dean Akings says there's limited information he can put out this
early in the investigation, but he says law enforcement is now "focusing
in a different direction than searching for (DeBolt)."
Tina Almos, a victim advocate with the Kansas Attorney General's Office,
is acting as a spokesperson for DeBolt's family. She says that since the body was found, law
enforcement has asked family members not to comment on the case for now.
Still, Almos says, "They're obviously very distraught right now."
Earlier Tuesday, Conrad said her daughter had left her purse at home and didn't have ID on her.
Law enforcement from Great Bend, Barton County, and the KBI are currently on the scene where the body was found.
Dozens of people turned out for a vigil Tuesday night in Great Bend.

I knew when she missed the Booster Club dinner that something was not going to turn out well in this case.
Again, we have a teen with an older male friend who is the last to be seen with her.

To all of you out there that is talking about my mother in
law just need to stop, please!! She knows she did wrong and this is not
the time to point fingers. Alicia is a normal kid who makes bad
judgments at times, but to error is human. She wasn't going to a huge
party, it was a small get together that she considers a party. She told
her mom who she was going with and what time she was going to be back.
We just got back from shopping all day and she was a little tired. Her
curfew is at mid night and she planned to be back by then. Alicia is
really good about calling and telling her mom that she may be a few
minutes late. So please if you don't have nothing nice to say please
don't say anything at all. We are going through enough right now and are
trying to stay a positive as possible. Just keep her in your prayers.
Thank you, Holly DeBolt sister-in-lawP.S. We love you Alicia and
your nieces really want their auntie Alicia home safe.

KBI: Body found in investigation of missing
teen, ID not confirmed

GREAT BEND, Kansas – The Kansas Bureau of Investigation,
investigating the disappearance of a missing teen, says an unidentified
body has been found in the Great Bend area. Positive identification on
the body is pending, but officials say the investigation into the
disappearance of Alicia Debolt, 14, continues.
Debolt was last
seen leaving her home Saturday night. Her mother talked to KSN earlier
in the day, before a body had been found.
“It's heartbreaking
not knowing where she's at or what's going on,” said Tamar Conrad,
Alicia’s mother.
Tamara says
Alicia has been missing since Saturday night, when she was picked up by a
19-year-old man that family members call a friend. The two were
supposed to pick up another friend and head to a party. But didn’t show
up to the party and didn't return home that night.
"I started calling and texting and then from there
on just kept trying to call and text her,” she said.
The investigation into Debolt's disappearance
continues while authorities await positive identification of the body.
Great Bend officials would not comment on the whereabouts of the
19-year-old friend that supposedly picked her up.

I saw this yesterday too Ovie when I was searching for info. Naturally the family will try to stop any critisizm but something good can be gained from it if it stops only one other parent out there from making the same mistake. It is not good parenting to allow a 14 year old girl go out at 11pm and especially with a 19 year old whether he was a friend of the family or not. All I can say is it wouldn't have happened to me because my parents would not have allowed it and it wouldn't have happened to my son either because I wouldn't allow it and I know you would never allow it either. What was she thinking? And there is a point to my commenting on it. I believe we need to look at everything that contributes to why a child is killed or abused to see what could have been done to prevent it so others may learn and maybe it will save a life. My focus is the children and they want their parents to keep them safe.
