"Baby John" GOINS - 3 Months - Billings MT

A bond of $75,000 was set Friday for a Billings man who made his
first court appearance on a charge that he abused his 3-month-old child.



Gary Robert Goins, 22, appeared in Justice Court by video from the
county jail on a felony charge of assault on minor. Judge Larry
Herman set the bond amount requested on a warrant after a public
defender said Goins would reserve bond argument for his arraignment.
Herman set the arraignment for Tuesday before District Judge Russell Fagg.
Goins was arrested Thursday on a warrant alleging he caused severe
injuries to his 3-month-old child. An investigation was launched
after a day care reported on June 1 that the child had suspicious
bruises on his face and head and an injury to his lip and gums.
The child was taken to Billings Clinic, where doctors found that
the boy had a skull fracture, a fractured left ankle bone, a
fractured tibia in his left leg and torn tissue in his mouth, according to court records.
