"Baby Jane" DUNCAN - 2 Months - Port Charlotte FL

Post by TomTerrific0420 on Sat Sep 04, 2010 4:22 am

A Port Charlotte couple is accused of abusing their newborn girl, after an investigation found the baby had two leg fractures.

Charlston Heston Duncan, 26, and Shemayah Nicole Duncan, 24, both of the 2500 block of Luther Road,
were charged Wednesday with child neglect.
Charlotte County sheriff's detectives say the couple took the 2-month-old girl to
the pediatrician Tuesday to look at her leg. Doctors took X-rays and
found a femur fracture on the girl's left leg, according to an arrest
report. The family then took the newborn to the emergency room at a hospital in St. Petersburg.
The Department of Children and Families notified sheriff's detectives, who
reviewed a probable cause report from the doctor's office. In the
report, doctors noted the baby's left femur fracture was calcified and
there was also a second fracture on her right leg where part of the bone was missing.
According to the report, this type of injury is indicative of an abuse.
The couple was questioned Wednesday and arrested. Both remain at the Charlotte County jail without bond.
