Another 15 year old child who became a mother. It makes me wonder if she didn't become pregnant again and this 'father' wasn't happy about it. Just basing my thoughts on other cases where that has been the case. I hope not, I hope she will be found alive and well.

Investigators unleashed search dogs Friday and representatives from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children continued to look, but no one was able to find missing 17-year-old Paige Johnson.
"They are looking for Paige around the clock," Kenton Commonwealth's Attorney Rob Sanders said. "Detectives have crisscrossed Northern Kentucky and Southern Ohio."Patrol officers have canvassed Covington's East Side neighborhood where Johnson was last seen Sept. 23. Sanders said his office has issued numerous subpoenas for records. Family members have hung hundreds of missing person posters and appeared on the cable television show "Nancy Grace" Wednesday appealing for the public's help.Johnson's mother, Donna Johnson, has not heard from the 17-year-old mother since a male acquaintance dropped her off at about 1 a.m. at 15th and Scott streets to visit a friend.She never made it to that friend's house."There has been no arrests in the case," Covington police Capt. Teal Nally said. "We can't confirm a crime has been committed, but we certainly are worried for her safety."Donna Johnson said it was out of her daughter's character to disappear. Johnson has a 2-year-old daughter she regularly visits on the weekend. The daughter's father and his family have custody of the child, Nally said, adding that the child's father isn't thought to have been involved in the disappearance.Johnson also hasn't logged on to various social networking sites she regularly visited. She left her mother's home with no mobile phone and no credit cards. The teen, who was looking for a job, lived with her mother in Florence about 10 miles away from where she was last seen."It makes no sense she would leave because she just applied for a job," Donna Johnson said. "She was also looking at enrolling at Gateway Community College."Investigators became more concerned when the male acquaintance who said he dropped Johnson off hired a lawyer and refused to answer further questions. Nally said detectives wanted to know anything else Johnson might have told him about her plans for the night.Nally wouldn't release the name of the man who dropped off Johnson."We haven't even been able to confirm a crime has been committed so to call anyone a suspect I think would be premature," Nally said.Investigators were further concerned when another male acquaintance they tried to question hired a lawyer and refused to cooperate. People have reported seeing a teen matching Johnson's description in Cincinnati, Hamilton and Newport but all the reports have turned out to be unfounded."The case has generated a good amount of publicity, but, so far, there is no credible evidence that Paige has been sighted," Sanders said. "We still hold out hope that she will be found alive but the fact that prosecutors are involved is obviously not a good sign."Covington police Lt. Col. Spike Jones said the city gets about 100 children reported missing a year but almost all are located. He said is it is unusual to have a teen missing for this amount of time."We are just very hopeful that Paige is aware we are looking for her and she will reach out and contact us, or contact her family, and let us know she is OK," Jones said. "Until that point, we will continue to look for her."He said investigators brought search dogs to a home Johnson might have visited in Taylor Mill but did not find her.Robert Lowery of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in Alexandria, Va. said representatives are in Covington to provide any assistance investigators need. COVINGTON, KY (WAVE) - The family of a missing teen from Covington, Kentucky continues their search, hoping to find 17-year-old Paige Johnson alive.She was last seen in Covington on Sept. 23.Paige's mother and grandmother spent the weekend posting fliers. They say they're going to try to cover every telephone pole in the area with her picture."We want Paige home," said her mother, Donna Johnson. 17-Year-Old Paige Johnson Remains Missing

A Northern Kentucky family is expanding the search for a missing loved one. 17-year-old Paige Johnson of Florence disappeared on September 23rd, but her family is holding out hope they will find her. But Covington Police say some sources of information are drying up.

Paige Johnson was reportedly last seen at 15th and Scott in Covington... dropped off by a friend. Now that friend and Paige Johnson's boyfriend have hired attorneys and are being as helpful as they were at first. Every street corner in Covington seems to have a flier asking for help finding Paige Johnson. They're starting to pop up all over... even in Cincinnati.

Donna Johnson, Paige Johnson's Mother: "We put them in Florence, Newport, Ludlow, we're even going to put some in Walton. We're trying to put them anywhere they might have seen her."

Johnson has been missing 18 days. The fliers have given police some tips, but nothing specific about her whereabouts.

Lt. Col. Spike Jones, Covington Police: "DO YOU FEEL LIKE YOU'RE GETTING FULL COOPERATION FROM PEOPLE WHO HAVE KNOWLEDGE OF WHAT'S GONE ON WITH HER? Well we have received a lot of cooperation from some folks. As you know one individual has obtained and attorney...did obtain an attorney."

That was the last person known to have seen Paige Johnson, reportedly here at 15th and Scott in Covington.

"That's supposedly. We don't even know if she made it to 15th and Scott. That's just the friend who gave her a ride and said he dropped her off. But we don't know."

Jenny Roderick, Paige Johnson's Grandmother: "We don't know they're getting lawyers. We don't understand why they're getting lawyers. {DONNA} We're kind of curious ourselves why they did get lawyers. That scares us, too. We don't know."

Police are still handling this as a missing persons case. There is no criminal investigation.

"We're very confident we'll locate Paige."

Paige Johnson has a two-year-old daughter. The baby is with the father's family. Police say he is not suspected of any involvement with her disappearance.

Paige Johnson is 5'1'' tall....110 pounds with light brown hair with highlights. She has pierced ears... and a pierced tongue and navel.

Family-friends and even strangers are using Facebook to help find Paige Johnson. Dozens of people have posted the flier about the missing girl on their pages and there is a group now dedicated to finding Paige.

COVINGTON, Ky. - Everyone involved in the Paige Johnson case is on Facebook … everyone except the missing teen herself. And police said that could be cause for concern. While the police still have no concrete leads about what happened to the 17-year-old who disappeared nearly three weeks ago, they continue to search for her around the clock. The search has even extended to a check of her social habits on the Internet and that's where police have come up cold -- no e-mails sent; no Facebook status updates; no MySpace chats or messages. Police consider the teenager’s lack of social network activity as a possible concern. Family, friends and the community have been all about social networking in the search for the missing teen. They are using Facebook to reach out to friends across the country—posting information and flyers about Johnson’s disappearance to their online pages, as well as starting the group, “ Keep Paige Johnson In Our Prayers. We Will Find Her <3 .” Johnson, who lives in Florence with her mother Donna Johnson, has been missing since Sept. 23, and has not accessed any of her social networks since she disappeared. Covington Police Capt. Teal Nally said Johnson has not e-mailed, called or texted any of her family or friends since she was last seen in the area of 15th and Scott streets in Covington. She is normally active on the Internet so this is of concern to police. “We are investigating this like there could be foul play,” said Nally of the missing teenage mother. Paige’s 2-year-old daughter, McKenzie lives with her father and his family, who have custody of her, Nally said, and are not suspected of any wrongdoing. A male acquaintance told police that he dropped off Paige in the area of 15th and Scott streets near a friend's house at about 1 a.m. on Sept. 23. Police said that she did not make it to the friend’s house. The male who dropped her off has not given police any further information that could lead them to her, said Nally. At this time, the male, who was the last person to see her, does have legal representation. Johnson’s mother filed a missing-person report at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 23. Nally said that the police have conducted several searches of properties and residences since the investigation began. However, names of people, searches and interviews are not being released by the police while the investigation is ongoing. Nally said so far in the investigation authorities have been unable to confirm whether or not a crime has been committed. Authorities hope to find the missing girl in good health. The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children is also involved in the case. The organization sent two representatives to Covington to assist in the search as soon as the missing report was filed. They helped with the search as well as posted flyers across Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. They have since left, said Robert Lowery, executive director of the Missing Children’s Division. As the tips began coming in less and less frequently, Lowery said the organization recalled its representatives to the Alexandria, Va. office. However, a case manager assigned to Johnson's case is continuing to coordinate with the Johnson family and the Covington Police, assisting in any way possible, he said. As leads come in from their website and call center, Lowery said they coordinate those with the Covington Police. They also have a search and rescue team on staff to consult with the police. There is a “concern for her welfare” said Lowery, who said that at the beginning of the investigation and search, Johnson was thought to be a runaway. But now they are more concerned that she may have disappeared unwillingly. Covington Police Lt. Col. Spike Jones said the entire community is worried about her. “We’re staying optimistic. We’re hopeful that she sees the media coverage and will reach out to tell us or her family, letting us know that she’s OK.” He called it unusual that Johnson has been gone for so long and has not reached out. Local 12 has uncovered some startling new information about the disappearance of a 17-year-old Northern Kentucky girl. Court records fill in some gaps and identify the 22-year-old man that police have said was the last to see Paige Johnson alive. The records also raise some serious questions about his story that he dropped her off on a Covington street three weeks ago today. Local 12's Joe Webb has been following the story.

Yesterday we told you how this story has taken on a life of its own on Facebook. This morning a Channel 12 producer spotted Jacob Bumpass's name on a Facebook post, identifying him as the last person to see Paige Johnson. After some checking, we found out Bumpass has drawn a lot of attention from Covington Police who've got search warrants for his home, a car and his cell phone... all in efforts to find Johnson.

22-year-old Jacob Bumpass has been locked up in the Kenton County jail since October 4th for a parole violation. He was arrested after Covington Police showed up at his Latonia home to question him about Paige. According to an affidavit for a search warrant, they were told he was with her the night she disappeared and had given her alcohol. In the same affidavit, Detective Brian Frodge says Bumpass ran when police announced who they were but they caught him. He let them inside the home, where Frodge says he saw what he thought was dried blood on a sink and a latex glove. Bumpass refused to talk.

Police also got a search warrant for a car. According to the search warrants, police obtained Jacob Bumpass's cell phone records from Cincinnati Bell. They tracked the movement of his phone the morning Paige disappeared.

Bumpass says he dropped her off at 15th and Scott about 1 a.m. The cell phone records show he, or at least his phone, was somewhere else. The affidavit says at 1:03 that morning Bumpass' phone accessed or pinged a cell phone tower on Tanner's Lane in Florence, a few blocks from Johnson's home. At 1:32 it pinged from a tower in Wilder... the one closest to Bumpass' home. Just before 3 a.m., his phone pinged on a tower in Edgewood and at 4:13 a.m., it pinged on a tower on Filager Road in Batavia. Five minutes later there is a hit on a tower on Half-Acre Road near the entrance to East Fork Lake State Park. At 9:43 the phone was back near the Wilder tower. All on the night Paige Johnson was last seen with Jacob Bumpass.

Bumpass is not charged with anything related Johnson's disappearance. Police say they have not opened a criminal investigation but the search warrant affidavits speak for themselves.

We do not know what police found or if they have actually conducted the searches, yet. The affidavit for the house was dated October 4th. The one for the car was dated October 12th.

Bumpass is being held for violating his parole by having alcohol and weapons at his home and using marijuana. Covington Police did not return a call today. The prosecutor did not want to comment on Bumpass.

COVINGTON, Ky. - With Paige Johnson’s disappearance a sense of urgency and sadness comes over those closest to her, especially for a girl who looks at her like a little sister lost. If Greer Locatell could be doing anything with her best friend, she said she and Paige would be sitting around laughing right now, having a good time like they always did. Locatell said that since the girl who was always positive and always smiling has gone missing, “the sunshine has pretty much been ripped out of my life.” “She was like my baby sister,” said the University of Cincinnati student who met Johnson when she was 12 years old. Johnson, now 17, has been missing since the early morning hours of Sept. 23. Police, family and friends have searched for her and for any clues about her disappearance since then. Locatell, a 2010 Scott High School graduate, said that she met the missing teen through her friendship with the father of Johnson’s 2-year-old daughter. She said Johnson had plans for her life -- plans that included her daughter and a future for them both. Johnson would do anything for her daughter, said Locatell, whose home is in Taylor Mill, Ky. “They are so much alike, always full of life.” She was a good mother and was going to enroll in Gateway Community and Technical College, Locatell said. She was dedicated to making her life as wonderful as she could. “Paige was getting ready to start a life with Ronnie,” her boyfriend of a few years, she said. She said Johnson was a positive person, always smiling, laughing and ready for a good time, always enjoying life. Locatell said she has always worried about her like she was her own sister. Johnson, who lives in Florence with her mother Donna Johnson, has been missing since Sept. 23. Her friend grieves but is positive for her safe return. “It’s hard, but she has angels watching over her,” said Locatell. According to police, a male acquaintance said that he dropped Johnson off at 15th and Scott streets in Covington, Ky. near a friend's house at about 1 a.m. that morning. But she did not make it to the friend’s house. Paige’s mother filed a missing-person report later that evening when her daughter did return home. Covington Police Capt. Teal Nally, said that the police have conducted several searches of properties and residences since the investigation began. However, based on those searches, they can not confirm whether or not a crime has been committed. Crime or not, Paige’s friends are diligent in their hopes of her safe and speedy return. Friends and family are posting photos of Paige and leaving messages to her and about her, asking and hoping for her to come home safely. “People keep saying it’s not the same without her, and it’s true because she brings the best out in anyone she meets,” said Locatell. The 19-year-old, who has put up flyers all over, knocked on doors, received tips about Paige’s whereabouts and prayed for her safe return, said she would tell her friend to come because she is needed back home. “I would tell her she needs to come home, not only because her daughter needs her mother, but we all need her. I would tell her how sorry I am for not being there every single day like I should have. I would tell her how much I love her. I would tell her I would give her the world just to have her come home.” And it’s her mission to find her. That’s how she will get through this, she said.
