Search Launched for Missing Desert Hot Springs Girl

The Desert Hot Springs Police Department has asked for the public's help in finding a local teen who's been missing since Monday.

14-year-old Erika Edney has not been seen since she was dropped off at Palm Springs High School on Nov. 15 at 8 a.m., said Sgt. Gustavo Paiz of the Desert Hot Springs Police Department.

"She has spoken to family members on Tuesday, November 16, at about 11:30 a.m. via telephone but no one has seen her," Paiz said.

Erika Edney is a 14 year old White female, brown hair, green eyes, 5'8, 140, last seen wearing a white sweater, yellow shirt and blue pants, according to police.

Police did not indicate where, if anywhere, they think the teen may have headed.

Detectives found a teenager Thursday who had been reported missing and reunited the girl with her family, according to Desert Hot Springs police.




Erika Edney, 14, was found in the 13-000 block of Ocotillo Road, according to police. She had been last seen Monday at Palm Springs High School and had also spoken with family members by phone Tuesday.In a news release, police thanked the public for helping with the search but did not say exactly how Erika was found or give details on her condition.
