TROY CAMPBELL - 5 yo (2009) - Phoenix AZ

A Valley man was found guilty of murdering his 5-year-old son and sentenced to natural life in prison Tuesday. Nashawn Campbell was arrested in June of 2009 after the boy’s aunt reportedly found both Nashawn and 5-year-old Troy Campbell with their throats cut in their home at 16th and Fillmore streets. The child died from the injury and Nashawn was taken to a Phoenix hospital until he recovered. Three months prior to the murder, the boy’s natural mother reportedly filed a request that the boy be in her sole custody after custody was awarded to Campbell the previous summer.
