MAYPORT, Fla. -- A 2-year-old child
hospitalized Monday night after having difficulty breathing is in
critical condition, and both police and child welfare workers are
investigating.About 7:30 p.m., the boy's mother and her
boyfriend called Navy police from their home in the Ribault Bay
Village, off-base housing near the Mayport Naval Station.Department
of Defense police and firefighters responded and the boy was flown to
Shands-Jacksonville Medical Center by air ambulance.Jacksonville police were notified about 11:15 p.m. that the boy was found unresponsive with extensive injuries."He
apparently has some kind of brain injury, but we're not sure as to what
it is and why," Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Sgt. Scott Dingee said.Homicide detectives were investigating the
circumstances and questioning the couple. Dingee said child abuse was
among the possibilities being investigated.The Florida Department of Children and Families was also
investigating since it was not clear what led to the child's injuries.

MAYPORT, Fla. -- The father of a 2-year-old Mayport boy who died last week after suffering a brain injury said he's still trying to accept that he no longer has his youngest son.
Eddie Robb was rushed to a hospital when his mother and her boyfriend said they discovered that he was not breathing, according to police.


"This is a very unexpected loss and it's devastating to a family to experience this," Eddie's father Bert Robb said. "It was frightening. It was really scary."
"Eddie was a wonderful little child. He always smiled, was always happy. If you were sad and alone, he would come up to you and bother you, hug you, kiss you until you started smiling, until you started being happy."
Police were called out to a home in the 1000 block of Valley Forge Court last Monday evening and found Robb's 2-year-old son with extensive injuries. The boy died Friday.
The Florida Department of Children and Families and police are still investigating to determine what caused the boy's death and if charges need to be filed.
The DCF released this statement Monday: "It takes time for the Medical Examiner's report to be completed, which would be crucial in determining whether this tragic death was due to abuse or neglect. Additionally, in cases like these, we would interview family, neighbors and anyone who knew the family in order to get more information on what went on in that home."
Still, Robb said, investigating won't bring his son back to him.
"I'm blessed with very, very wonderful children," Robb said. "In a way, Eddie gets to continue doing what he's always done, which is make other people happy."

the cause of death is that he was shaken asif he hit a brick wall going 100 mph, and punched on both sides of his head, he had a skull fractre accross the whole right side of his skull. my question is this why does everyone feel the need to go after the boyfriend when he has a alibi, but the mother doesnt. i know both of these people and saw them both with mind that the person who killed Eddie Jay Robb was his mother, she talked about having planned out both her kids deaths and her own death. yes she passed a lie detector test but there was no flucuation what so ever, and an ex homicide detective and lawyer both said in order for her lie detecto test to look this way then she was on xanxa, very easy to get ahold of none the less, this mother was seen beating her childern and yanking them up by there arms, and cussing and screaming at these little boys. she was very unstable and her biggest concern was those kids going to bed by 7-730 so she could go out or go see her boyfriend. she would lock these boys in there room so they couldnt get out and they only had the choice to fall asleep. she is the one who did this to that baby and yet they want to arrest the boyfriend with nothing to back them up. he never once hit his children and they where well behaved kids, all of our kds played together and this is rediculous that it has taken this long. and now tat they are moving they are arressting the wrong person. the boyfriend couldnt go to the funeral becausehe couldnt hold it together, and when myslf and other where at this beautiful babys funeral we couldnt stop the tears as we looked at his pictures, however his mother sat there laughing amoung old friends and chatting, aside from the fact she threw all his things out just a week after his passing, and not a month later was going out to the bar and dating men again, is this the behavior of a mother mising her baby that her boyfriend murdered no this i a mother guilty of mudering her baby, if you lost your baby in this horrible way would u be in school within the month and have a job and throw all his precious things away, the day he died would u insist on collecting your and your childrens things from your now ex boyfriend. would you say it was an accident and then start blaming the father and then blame the boyfriend, her story changed many times. and if you truely believed your boyfriend killed your baby would u not a month and a half later talk about you are ok now with your babys death and the only thing you battle now is the fact you cant be with the man that you are still madly in love with. (that you r saying murdered your baby). really? so im asking everyone concider these inside facts and choise your sides because an arrest is about to be made and its for the wrong person.

Welcome shameonyou. Who is your name referring to? Nobody here I hope. Obviously you are close to this case and emotions are running high. If the boyfriend truly had an alibi then I doubt he would be arrested. We will have to see what happens. I don't know what the delay is. Just one thing, you mention the mother wanted to get the kids in bed by 7.30pm. I'm not sure what you're point is there. They should be in bed by then and most mothers try to ensure there is a routine for bedtime.

i am referring to the babys mother, and my kids go to bed everynight by 8pm but 7-730 a little too early in my oppinion. expecially when u are locking them i the room so u can leave to go to your boyfriends house.. it wasnt about establishing a bed time with these kids t was about being selfish and locking them in there room so she could go have fun or whatever it was she did that night. i fully believe kids should have a regular schedual but not locking them in there room, you teach them. if you child didnt want te door shut all the way would you close it and lock them in there with no light or night light. yes some kids dont sleep in total darkness expecially kids that have been tramatized or ect. that are now afaird of the dark. this baby was murdered byhis mother no doubt about that, she is crazy and has mental issues. but you wont find that in any file because she is smarter than that. there are things no one knows nd yes they are getting ready to make an arrest but on the wrong person and the only reason they are making the arrest is because they have no other choice. they want him to take a lie detector test which is what he is trying to do. there hasnt been any arrests because there is no evidence. hmmm isnt that funny that the mother was seen running out of the house and hidding something in the boyfriends car, which she drove to the hospital and whn he car was searched it was to late whatever she had put in there was now gone. she already had a hospital bag ready before he was found everything insdie was nicely folded, not as if she was in a rush throwning things in a diaper bag to rush to the hospital. parametics told her grab a bag and go straight to shands, she picked his bag up off the floor. once she arrived at the hospital (after waiting on 4 friends) she had to open te bag to go through security, what was inside the bag waasnt anthing u would normally have in your childs diaper bag on a daily bases. things u need for the hospital and what not but they here very neatly in the bag very organizd, now i ask who organizes you drying childs diaper bag before leaving for the hopital. expecially since it was all ready by the door as if she had perpared much earlier in the night... does she still sound so innocent. there are things i could tell you and the rest of the world that would make you sick to your stomach...

Were you there that night or are these rumors? If you read all our other threads you will see how often the boyfriends hurt the children. That combined with him being who LE suspect makes it a struggle to take everything you say as fact. You are making serious accusations so if you could tell us the source then we can assess it properly.

the source is myself what i saw and wht i was told by the mother. i knew them as a couple adn before they where a couple. the boyfriend took the lie detector test and passed. she told me herself she is ok with her babys death but she fights everyday that she cant be with the man she still loves deeply... how could you say this if you truely thought he did it. he couldnt even walk into the room and still cant hardly go in that room. i went to the er that night. i lived two houses down from his. i knew both very welll. everything i say is a fact and nothing less. she smacked those kids in the head and jerked them arounfd by there arms adn wrists. the way she treated hers and my own kids is the reason she moved out of my house. i helped her move she has the strength of a man. i partly blame myself becasue if she hadnt moved eddie and his brother would have been tucked away safe in there beds under my care while she went over to the boyfriends house... i trust the boyfriend with my kids lives but i never trusted her with them.. i left the hospital that night to pick up the other son and the boyfriends 2 kids so the police could search the house and interview him. i was the one that had to stay up all night for DCF to examine the kids and then come remove the oldest and i creis as h cried and held him in my arms and told himho much i love him and everything would be ok and i ould seen him soon... i havent seen him since... do i feel she is guilty? yes. so others that knew her? yes. i hope she rotts for what she has done and i have not oe doubt she did it. i know she did this to baby Eddie.. we used to call him joker baby because his smie extened past his lips.. he was a beautiful baby and such a happy baby.. i love him and me and my kids miss him dearly. its hard to talk about him without crying but we meantion his name almost daily still i hav his pitures hung upin my house, he is still in my heart and mind everyday, an he remins in our home.. she threw away all his belongings... i still have some of his stuff and i tucked it away to keep forever. justice need to e served for this baby. i pray she rotts in jail for the rest of her life..
